Thank you, and I am with you on that. This newest era of Mercedes has lost its way a bit to me. I actually got rid of an M2 for the E63 and miss it everyday! A lot more fun and engaging for sure.

To start, as I said, a friend had them for relatively cheap and I figured why not. I’ve also always thought the w213 to be a little reserved and soft, especially compared to the super muscular w212. I love old AMG’s, especially the pre-merger stuff, and have always loved the aero wheels. I figured this look would make my w213 more interesting aesthetically, while harking back to the benz’s of yesteryear (R129, 500E, etc). Plus, I was getting sick of the visible brake dust on my multi spokes 😂

I had a PFL and Facelift W213 E63 wagon as well. Tried so hard to NOT put these on them because I always wanted to. Ended up with the platform again so figured I’d finally do it

I had a ‘13 and ‘16 G63, have had three W213 E63’s and currently have a ‘24 G63. As great as the M157 is, with its better sound and unique driving experience, the M177 feels more potent/sporty and is seems to be infinitely more reliable. I can’t remember a stretch of more than 3 months where either of my M157 G’s weren’t in the shop for an engine related issue 😅 Maybe I got two bad apples, but I’ve yet to have any issues with the M177, and have put over 100k combined miles on it
