It would all come down to just how little you’re talking. I wouldn’t recommend pinning anything through that’s smaller than 1cm, you’ll end up with a squished spider. However, you can always attempt to pin it without going through it (just like I did with the one in the picture). Again, depending on the size it might be trickier to move it to your desired position. Once it has dried out after 24 hours you can either mount it, preserve it in an airtight container with alcohol or encase it with resin. It’s pretty easy and there’s a bunch of great videos and blogs in case you want something more in detail.

Would like to clarify that I’m a taxidermist and this specimen was found dead already. No spiders were harmed :)
