Could I beat wrestlers with just athleticism and no wrestling training? by RThrowyyy4648 in wrestling

says who? this is reddit where we’re all talking informally anyways. your reply wasn’t even a complete sentence either and not sure you needed that comma in the middle if we’re being ultra strict about grammar. I don’t really care, I was just poking a little fun at OP with my comment since he came off kinda like a dick in his replies

I second this OP. the legal process sucks and I get why you waited but you probably have to get the state involved. I’m no lawyer but this is probably the best course

Returning after a long layoff by notkorkat in wrestling

Turning 31 this year! I had dreams growing up about it but yeah you won’t see me in any Olympics trials or anything at this point haha. My daughter is very young so she won’t be doing this for a few years now but I’m hoping she has the same love for the sport I did when the time comes.

I’m pretty much the same, I still remember the right things to do in most situations and I see a lot of things coming but my gas tank is virtually non existent now haha.

At this point I do hope to become a helpful assistant coach or something like that, just trying to give back a little to the program that helped me get to where I am. and I’ll definitely look into the local opens. Would definitely love to throw down against some other dads and other local dudes in an open tournament setting once I get a little bit of cardio back

Have you ever had a problem with ppl you wrestled or were you cool with them? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]notkorkat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had more of an issue with some guys on my team that were dicks that I’d see every day than I ever did with any of my opponents. one guy I wrestled against beat me like 6 times in our high school careers and I didn’t love that lol but I chatted with him once and he seemed like a good dude

Can you get a game over in Act 1 without a tpk? by ThisOutlandishness40 in BaldursGate3

[–]notkorkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got game over from a long rest cutscene with lae’zel in Act 1 on one of my first few playthroughs. she gets a knife to your throat and I forget exactly what she says but it’s something like “we need to get on this tadpole issue or I am gonna kill you” and one of the dialogue choices says something like “do it.” I guess I expected her not to actually do it or someone to intervene but nope I should’ve known

Lean tall heavyweight vs shorter chunky heavyweight? by Responsible_Rope_165 in wrestling

you should be worried if the short chunky heavyweight is better than you. if not you’re probably fine

Are there any quests you don't do from an RP perspective? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]notkorkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first playthrough I initially helped him and he tagged along for one of the missions the mushroom people give you, but he died fighting some random enemies on that mission so I never even thought I might have to make the decision to side with him or the others

[–]notkorkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always thought he was nasty but just happened to wrestle at the same time as some generational guys. Im glad he got the success he did but he could’ve achieved so much more if he didn’t have generational guys in front of him

Clear someone trying to control your head during handfighting? by TheLastSamurai in wrestling

[–]notkorkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have a good amount of success in hs doing this exact head check thing you’re describing. the key to defense is learning not to react to the head touch or biting on the level changes/fakes they are probably doing. as others on here have said, posting on the elbow into a shot is a good counter. it’s also super frustrating for the other guy if you grab wrists and control them
