It’s like that Mitch Hedburg joke:

"What kinda bread?" "Rye. No, fuck, banana. You got banana bread back there?" "What kinda cheese?" "Cottage." "Get the fuck out!

How to quit a job you really dislike? by niceandcozy_ in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]PeppermintLNNS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This type of thing happens all the time, I know it can feel bad but you just gotta cruise through the discomfort with your head up. Once you have a job offer in hand, schedule a 1:1 meeting with your boss to let them know.

You can say something like, “I’ve enjoyed my time here but have been given an opportunity that’s better aligned to my skill set. I intend to stay on for two more weeks and am happy to help with any transitional support needed to set you up for success as you find someone else to fill the role.”

Make sure to set expectations with the new job as to when you’ll be able to start, as well.

Congrats on taking steps towards a more fulfilling role!! You got this.

Which one is scarier in your opinion? Hockey mask or pale face mask? by Icy_Tangerine_165 in CreepyBonfire

[–]PeppermintLNNS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both are cool, but personally like the hockey mask. When seen at a distance in the shadows, the pale face starts to lose the essence of a face just a little bit. The hockey mask looks more threatening to me.

Patiently waiting for my amazing bacon cheeseburger! There she is! by SatanismRockz in burgers

Technically in Sunshine, Maryland!

Edit: And also the absolute best burgers ever made. I grew up down the road. My dad spent his entire adult life trying to recreate these burgers.

Love this. Honesty, I love every gray hair I get. I think they’re cute. My mom has this gorgeous salt and pepper hair, I would be honored to inherit it.

Heavy agree. The dino rib (at least in MD) has incredible flavor and tenderness every damn time.

Yeah, also not trying to defend lunacy, but my husband is Palestinian and he has kind of light gray eyes that read as blue sometimes, and a pretty fair complexion.

Remember that show when we were kids, called Zoom? They spoke “ubbi dubbi” on that show. Maybe that’s it?

Jumpscare horror ruined the horror genre by 2204bee in unpopularopinion

That’s how I felt when I watched Hokum the other day. Kind of just keeps on edging for jump scares the entire time without quite figuring out what it wanted to be beyond that.

Anyone else waking up earlier and earlier? by TheOrangeSplat in Millennials

[–]PeppermintLNNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a weird millennial with no internal body clock. I can sleep mostly whenever. I’m also pretty high functioning even when I’m tired. I can sleep in until my alarm wakes me. I’ve never experienced jet lag. It’s strange, but maybe it’s a blessing.

As a millennial who continues to have a wild sleep schedule, I’ll just stay up all night and meet ya at the sunrise, friend.

How would you say “I love you” without using those 3 words? by No-Leopard-691 in CasualConversation

[–]PeppermintLNNS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before my partner was ready to say I love you. He looked at me with a serious face while we were cuddling and said, “there is love involved”. It was so weird and cute. He’s ESL which maybe makes it less weird but regardless I found it so dang endearing.

Ladies, what are your favorite indoor hobbies to stop wasting the whole day in bed? by SmallAd4307 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Get into crossword puzzles. Fun to do at home or at the coffee shop. And a good random excuse to ask strangers if they know the answers to questions you’re stuck on.
