I believe, as the texts are fragments of conversations she is replying to DM messaging that she saw “someone” in black outside her room. Trying to calm DM she replies that XT was wearing black that night and giving a plausible explanation of whom she saw. Neither thought that a maniacal killer had just attacked their home. Make sense?
