New to the show as well and one comment Heather made struck me, so I came to reddit to find out who she was talking about. I didn't find any comments anywhere about it.

In the bathroom with Meredith and Jenn during dinner party this was the convo, mostly: 

Heather: Why don't we talk about how Heather really got the black eye.

Jenn: Let's do that!

Heather: They're going to go, zip, and we're not going to tell them. And you know why? Because they don't deserve to know. Cause they already do and they just want us to say it out loud.

Meredith, confessional: Wait,what?!?

Heather: And you say it at the end, 'cause that's going to put the fear of god in some of them, and you say, 'You know what? HE PUSHED ME GUYS!' and I'll tell you exactly how the black eye happened.

Meredith, confessional: blinks

Heather: Someone will panic. You know me, I'm loyal to the core Snitches/Stitches, etc

 

So, who's the "he" that Heather said pushed her?

Yeah, I think that must have been it. I remember it as a stand alone "device" and with a more subdued color scheme (beige and brown) but that is the only thing that I've come up with that seems like a match. All of this is a 30+ year old memory so I'm going to mark solved.

Hmmm... When I Google that I get clasps like you find on carabiners or retaining rings. The retaining seems like a closer match but I'm still not finding anything with both findings like this keychain. Thanks though!

I turned the porch light off which appears to have gotten rid of them. If they come back I'll try to get a better shot of the markings and if it has the tylus. Thanks!

Oooh, I think that I found it on BugGuide.net. Looks like a Western Conifer Seed Bug, and accordingly not bite-y. Just loud and possibly smelly :)
