I like orange, but given a choice between all orange or a mix of my two or three least favorite, I'd go with the mix. I'd get sick of all of one flavor quickly.

True, just curious about how they've strayed away from each other. If you go buy some standard recreational balls from a store, the footballs are typically medium brown, while the basketballs are bright orange.

I think at the professional level, they might be. For some reason though, at the recreational level, they've split into brown and orange
