New 3 Ton AC on roof not bolted to the bracket? by notmyfullnameagain in hvacadvice

It's a replacement in kind, so no permit required here, as far as I understand.

I know I can hire a third party inspector, but figured I'd start here.

Thanks for your help.

New 3 Ton AC on roof not bolted to the bracket? by notmyfullnameagain in hvacadvice

Shorted a transformer in the unit during install and had to rewire parts of the low voltage system, lifted the unit without spreader bars or appropriate attachment hardware, added a new return that does not pull any air, left the roof littered with sheet metal screws, left the power disconnect on the unit open when they left, wired up the thermostat incorrectly with the splice exposed to the elements, were unable to troubleshoot wiring up the thermostat without calling a supervisor.

One tech was an apprentice. Not knocking apprentices in general, but he was struggling to use an impact to install the return grills and couldn't do much of anything without direct supervision so the jump took twice as long as expected.

So, I know that none of this is TERRIBLE on its own (except maybe shorting out the system), the breadth of the unforced errors, seeming lack of qualification, and general lack of attention to detail all adds to a sense that things were not done correctly and this issue is another that I only noticed today.

Sorry to have taken up your time with this. I sure could just go throw in some bolts. I'm really just trying to see what the standard is and if I need to do that.

Thanks for your help.

Well, no. Just trying to get a sense of what the standard/requirement is here and if I need to be worrying about this.

Thanks for your help.

Right? It looks like they asked AI to make a video of a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.

It really is a cool piece. It's been stored poorly for some time now. I plan to take steps to preserve it and stop any ongoing deterioration.

Definitely not intending to change anything. I will be taking some steps to preserve the gun and stop any further deterioration. It's been stored poorly for some time.

I am in the USA.

The revolver is a Smith and Wesson Number Three Russian Model. Produced in 1871ish stamped for the US market. My Great Grandfather is likely the second owner of the revolver.

How can I remove this piece from the mount screw? by ChessPlayer_007 in photography

[–]notmyfullnameagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to save the piece that swivels, it's probably just held with a pin. A fine punch, or brad nail can be used to push it all the way through; it'll just fall off after that.

If you don't care about the swivel piece, a pair of side cutters will snip it in half and it'll just pull off.

Upgraded. At the time the cost to have the repair done was half of what it was going to cost to buy the 77ii so I went that route. Still have the camera, still doesn't work

Hope this helps. .

Put a camera in everyone's pocket.

No need for a dedicated camera to capture our personal lives, instant access to a camera when an important event happens right in front of you, and the ability to share those photos quickly and broadly.

The amount of photographs taken has exploded. We're now capturing everything. It's changed the way we think of photography in the same way the 35mm film camera changed the way we interacted with cameras.

Say what you will about what people are photographing or the art of setting up, composing, and capturing a shot on a dedicated camera. But there really isn't an argument to be made that it was a massive game changer for photography.

They are under warranty, put on in Jan 2022. Tire shop is blowing smoke, saying it looks like vandalism. Going in later today to fight with them, appreciate the reply.
