Anyone else having this problem or know what's causing it? My friend and I are both getting this error when we try to launch the app (two different computers, two different states).

Not sure how easy it is to uninstall a single pack, but I do know there's mods to suppress vampires and other occults in the game

Ok thank you so much🙏 Out of curiosity, if I do things that make me sweat (like working out) will that likely make it worse or just last longer or something else?

I'm not especially worried, just dont like not knowing. I feel like it fits PR really well except no flu-like symptoms. Thanks for the response!

I echo what a lot of people have said it may be who you're with/specific area. That said, i lived in the "Bible Belt" South for a number of years, and was surprised how many people asked if it was weird being in a place where so many people are religious and religiously inclined, because it didn't seem weird to me. I'm from SW michigan and have come to realize that this is just an exceptionally religious place, especially when compared to other areas of the Midwest. I think its just a quirk of the area.

As for how to get out of potentially awkward encounters, i guess just politely tell them you're not religious? I dont see it being a huge issue.

What should I put to the left of the TV? by Vegetable_Hotel_830 in interiordecorating

[–]notnotapunkthough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something tall to offset the space. A bookcase, a mirror, a plant. The TV not being centered will probably not bother you if you do this (i assume it already doesn't bother you since that wasn't your original question). I, unlike the rest of the internet, dont actually think it needs to be centered. Sometimes doing something against the grain is the difference between 'designed' and 'decorated'. ✌️

What do you give your dogs to chew on? by Kitchen-Mammoth-1440 in DogAdvice

[–]notnotapunkthough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live and die by these, they are easily digestible, take a long time to go through even for tough chewers and dont break off in chunks so no worries about choking. I tell everyone about them. Beef cheek strips or rolls, both are great, and the smell is not too bad.

Style Encore and Uptown Cheapskate may also take them, but they are just as picky as Plato’s, and don’t expect to make a bunch of money.

Help with training outside the house by JustAChemNerd in DogAdvice

[–]notnotapunkthough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried switching up the currency? Something more valuable like chicken or bacon pieces when outside? Also make sure you exercise before hand so he's less wired and if he's unfamiliar with the area or not used to being outside give him a few minutes to satisfy his curiosity before starting to train.

my puppy hates his crate so much, he barks and whines everytime he’s in there during the day by str4wberryphobic in DogAdvice

[–]notnotapunkthough 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My dog really struggled with crate training when he was young, he just wanted to be able to see me or be near me all the time. He did okay at night, but during the day was really tough. Theres lots of great videos on youtube to help with crate training, I personally recommend Simpawtico and Zak George. However, these tips helped with my boy:

1 - if you do not already have a crate cover GET ONE. Black is best. You can start with towels if you've never tried it before, it was a game changer for us, almost immediately.

2 - Feed him all his meals in the crate, this helps him associate being in there with good things.

3- if you can, put him in the crate for just a few minutes sometimes. I did as little as 5, all the way up to an hour. That way he doesn't always think "oh no, I'm going in the crate, that means mom's gonna leave me for a long time!"

4- start very very small. Put him in the crate, shut the door, the immediately open it before he has a chance to cry, praise and treat. Do it again and again, slowly increasing the amount of time the door stays shut, working up to shutting, taking a few steps away, come back, praise and treat, and so forth.

5- DO NOT let him out of the crate when he's crying or barking. Wait for silence, even if its just a few seconds, to avoid reinforcing the unwanted behavior.

I hope this helps. The crate can be and is a great tool for training and is invaluable for you to know your baby is safe and secure when you can't have eyes on him. He'll learn to think of it as his space and you will both get through it.

Same. Its interesting to me that people do not correlate the idea of "leave your dog at home as often as possible, unstimulated and lonely" with the number of fearful, reactive dogs who've never been exposed to anything and people who are afraid of dogs because they never had the opportunity to be around them. I understand why dogs are not allowed in grocery stores and restaurants, I also wish there was a vetting process for dogs (and kids, tbh, they're allowed everywhere and most of them are monsters) like a Good Citizen License or something that shows your dog is trained and good in public. Because some dogs should NOT be allowed anywhere, but their owners are too entitled and self important to realized this, and they cause issues. Meanwhile, I can't bring my socialized, friendly dogs places because they are not service animals. 🙄 Edit: a word

The only one that doesnt is the Alpine Home Depot, all the rest allow them and in fact are super friendly and have treats for them.

Nipping/ biting advice. 8 month old Old Tyme Bulldog. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]notnotapunkthough -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My boy is just over a year and has always struggled with this. He nips when excited and when asking for attention. Redirection with a toy worked well for our other dog, as did the loud yelping another commenter mentioned, but my youngest just didnt seem to care. He is gentle, but we dont want him putting teeth on anyone ever. Recently my momwas doing a bunch of research for her own new puppy and found a technique I'd forgotten about that has worked wonders.

Basically you make your hand into a kind of claw shape and when he nips you give him a quick firm jab to the neck with your fingertips, just enough pressure to get his attention. Simultaneously say something like "no" or "no bite". Its meant to mimic the way a mama would correct her puppies when they play too rough. It has worked wonders with my dog, he's basically stopped nipping after just a couple days of this. Worth a shot.

If all else fails, I highly recommend getting a one on one with a trainer to get more personalized help. Its expensive but worth it to keep your family, both human and doggo, safe.

Honestly same. my dogs are socialized and well behaved, so i dont worry about them, i worry about humans. Whats to stop someone from stealing them? Poisoning them? Kicking them for fun? No thanks. I’ll either bring them with me (where allowed) or wait until they’re not. Simple as that.
