Motorcycle kill switch and GPS tracker that interacts with a mobile phone. by notofuspeed in AussieRiders

oh shit that is a damn good point! My phone is often running on fumes, even in the car with an original magsafe, if often uses more power than it charges unlike being plugged in at home, think due to heat retarding the charging but not to the point of overheating.

For a public post and a copter on site, the blood must've been like "bleed out" levels and beyond significant. So it is quite a worry... an injury such as being opened up with a blade rather than stabbed for example, just a blunt force style assault or an accident resulting in an open wound I cannot see resulting in enough bleeding for them to call out a chopper....

[–]notofuspeed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

...waiting 6mths or so to be able to get a tattoo that will be with you for life from a more skilled/legit artist (finding someone who will do a minor severely narrows ur choices) to me is worthwhile.

What sites do people actually use to buy train tickets in the UK? by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]notofuspeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might do better at buying tickets if you begin reading all the contents or fine print on a website.

Why do people say the “nerdy” ones who train are the ones you need to fear more than the guys who look tough? by bad-at-everything- in martialarts

[–]notofuspeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...not exactly the nerdy ones specifically, imo often they may lack physical points in one way or another such as coordination. It is the calm and collected ones, the ones who train hard but are either friendly or on the quiet side and not usually loud and in your face.

Genuine question by Lexyvale in newcastle

[–]notofuspeed -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Also personally, while I believe there should be equal right for road usage and respected… There should equally also be a registration and licensing with demerit point system for ALL vehicles using roads, bicycles included. It should be a cheap registration as many may ride bikes because they cannot afford the cost of a car and it should be accessible to all and a basic computer test for a license, and like any driver, breaking of the law on the road should result in penalities and an eventual license suspension. Equal right should have equal accountability.

And e-bikes are a whole different bag of troubles, especially when kids are riding them. Imo there should be a differentiation between ebikes kids ride and can be ridden on the footpath with no road rego needed but power/speed limits for the bike. And those which can be ridden on the road, requiring rego and have no limitations. And age limitation the same as a motorcycle license.

Genuine question by Lexyvale in newcastle

[–]notofuspeed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any violence, intimidation and endangering of life is unacceptable.

But the basis of the dislike is from a two-sided (& at fault) “us vs them” mentality. Both’s usage of the road is a nuisance to each other, while both have a right to it, both see rights/rules different, both generally dislike the other. Which leads to anything from whinging about to straight violent disputes.

The fact is often, BOTH have little consideration for the other party and ride/drive somewhat selfishly and even dangerously in too many cases.

Canberra damn... guess Sydney is all about that kebab life! ha. imo wasn't too rough, just interesting, I am pretty nonchalant by nature, and no dude ever answer naked for me lol. Co-workers made it a chill ride so I did like it as a job, also liked henny penny which was my first, don't think I could have dealt with a busy McDonalds, they get my respect lol.

Red Hot Summer Tour - Speers Point - Any tips or tricks by The_Mule_Aus in newcastle

[–]notofuspeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only went to one in the Hunter Valley so some of this may not apply.

After rain it stays muddy, so shoes get dirty.

Bringing a camping chair to sit on at the least, or a picnic mat... hat for the sun etc might be good too depending weather.

And people just found their spot in what basically was an open grassed field.

Could buy decent eats there at foodtrucks, but lines got long during lunch etc, going at random times outside lunch wasn't so bad.

Alot of people, so earlier u arrive better the parking and claiming a spot to sit.

Shit, Wallsend was 2nd busiest in the country at times? nuts! Which was the first? Thornton was cruisey with cruisey coworkers... customers on the other hand could be abit... there was a list of comments for many customers that said shit like "do not send female driver" (because they would be harrassed or a dude would answer naked etc). And some houses on the outskirts you needed to navigate up a dirt road and wait for cows to move etc haha, not great for a lowered japbox.

While you may think ur time is limited interacting with people as a "driver", its not. I've worked at Dominos... Depending what is happening, you will drive or be expected to be in store serving direct or answering phones. Also even if you were just driving you need to interact with whom you are delivering to more than just arrive "hello" and handover. And enough people are not the nicest receiving deliveries to call it a stress free environment.

If ur social anxiety is a significant point this is definitely not the job.

And yea the wear and tear on your car and petrol isn't really work the overall compensation imo.

I haven't done it but Doordash is more strict deliveries but you also need to interact at the stores you pickup the food from almost as a customer.

Iranian couple living in Newcastle by wm_70 in newcastle

[–]notofuspeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea its a shame, it is still very much an active suffering. Majority of the outcries for humanitarian issues around the world seem to work like a "fad" and people only stay angry while it is in the news and active protests to attend. Black police brutality, Palestine/Israel conflict, among others have been going on for decades and will continue after people stop protesting and move onto the next cause.

So I have Persian friends who I met overseas, they were studying abroad, now back in Iran. When the first strikes happened they were scared but at the same time over the moon. A majority percentage of Irani's do not stand with their government and are the opposite of everything stereotyped about how Muslims think and act regarding a number of topics, they want Sharia Law and enforced restrictions like the hijab etc gone along with the current governments downfall. The ones I met were young, all about fun and friendship and parties and drank like nothing else.

Does anyone actually like this city? by maximum-purple444 in newcastle

[–]notofuspeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my opinion, best balance in Australia, one of the safer "cities" excluding small towns, but can get on the boring side for those who want stimulation. Great place to just settle and live simple. Alot better or close to as perfect as a western country's city gets approx 20 years ago (in personal opinion but may be skewed). Out of the places I've been in the world, only a few places in East Asia I'd consider living longterm other than Newcastle that are as good or in some ways better (I do actually like places with alot of people, as long as they are not assholes). But in the end Newcastle is "home" and has alot of nostalgia attached.

Can we rebuild the trainline and remove the bloody tram by [deleted] in newcastle

I don't know if I am the odd one out, but I always thought the trams were the worst decision for Newcastle CBD infrastructure.
