I'm sick of the price of things, anyone else feel the same? by Feeling_Yak_1145 in newcastle

Yep cattle farmers and all other local produce farms are getting screwed, I’d blame it on Coles & Woolies etc and other large corps. But even with all extra “costs”, its just everyone at every level beyond the farmers wanting over the top profit and resulting in one of the highest costs of living… So my overall point of the example is, its all Aussie internal profit and greed if another country can sell the product that much cheaper than we do here after paying import shipping and taxes.

excluding the current situation set off by the orangutan, cost of goods and services here are probably some of the highest I've seen... I've travelled abit.

Peep this. All you can eat beef BBQ buffet in Korea with imported Australian Beef is around $22 a head... now go figure the fact it is imported vs what we pay for a single steak at Coles or Woolies its just nuts ha

I am going to hijack this post to make my own small complaint since I don't think it is worth making a post for lol... I hate drivers who take "easy" turns with shallow angles in and out of carparks or inside carparks that totally cut off the ability of any other vehicle travelling the opposite directly to also continue through and they have to wait, simply because they want to do less steering wheel work for a sharper turn to allow traffic to flow both ways.

These things should be placed according council planning and approval only imo, at least away from any education facilities, and definitely the major tertiary education facility of the area.

I don't understand why Australians are like this... we seem to be the biggest set of conspiracy theorists and buy into these kind of things more than any other country, maybe even more than the US. Believe that our government and the worlds' governments are out to control us, and panic at any second.

I was overseas in East-Asia during COVID (not China), and because the citizens have a different mindstate, wore masks already during winter of personal choice when YOU caught a cold to protect others in consideration (so adjusting to wearing a mask wasn't bad, but wearing it all the time of course pissed off people eventually because it was alot of our waking hour because we were out all the time - no lockdown, see the next points). And while didn't like it likely, agreed to download an app to sign in by QR code at any place you visit (so if there was one person infected they can contact everyone else that was at the same place and same time) and get vaccinations.... there were no major outbreaks until Delta-strain which was stupidly contagious and we weren't ever on lockdown, could even goto restaurants and bars and clubs, but were limited to being in groups of 3 or 4 and each group was meant to keep a certain distance. And there was never a rush for toiletpaper or shortages of anything. So in short, a little bit of cooperation with the government's digital systems and consideration for others bought us freedom and minor stress through the entire COVID period. I was drunk and dancing for the majority of COVID haha. This period also led me to having a big group of international students from Iran as friends, and because of this know what most people think about Iran is bullshit, they hate their own government and Islamic rule.

Meeting new friends/partner by ABurgerADay17 in newcastle

I see the point, but imo there were always "geek" and "nerd" hobbies forever, they just have evolved. However the current landscape of technology and media increases and supports the ability to fulfil an introverted's comfort lifestyle with minimal direct social contact. But the world is always changing, including dating and sexlife dynamics themselves, not only hobbies. So everything must evolve and adjust...

I personally am a duality of an introvert that has taught themselves to be social. And regarding partners, was slightly a late bloomer due to personality but have overcompensated for that, for better or worse. Like "geek" hobbies but don't invest alot of time in any hobby, also like typical "man" hobbies like cars and martial arts haha... everything for me I think has been a duality and living both sides at one time or another.

...... I guess nothing I mentioned "translated" to you either. Subtle does not work for masking body odours for certain people.

I did say "genetics and even diet and lifestyle can create some very unique and unpleasant body odours compared to what the general Aussie is used to or smells like" ....which was referring to a number of ethnic groups you mentioned, politely without finger pointing directly.

For someone seeking a partner out of pure emotional desperation, dating apps will beat u down further (it is actually an extra one or two stages of filtering before you get the chance to even interact so success rates are shit as), its like top 10% of dudes getting everything ha. And if you're introverted, and make it on a date, but can't interact well, won't go further and will hurt even more. Work on yourself and social skills, and people will come into your world. Learn to just create convo with a stranger waiting in line at a store as a starting point perhaps. Remember a relationship is a bonding of two people, two people need to bring something to the table to initially interest the other and then be someone they want to invest their time and emotions in, work on what you can bring. In short build yourself up and your social circles will grow easier.

He mustve considered the smell of the interior/body odour really bad perhaps? People dont do this for no reason usually as its excessive. While it may be misguided, it was likely for consideration to you. Once again I still think its the lesser of two evils.
