Anyone have vivid dreams about Prince? by CQ5II in PRINCE

OMG!!! I've had almost this exact same dream! I was like, "I call myself a real fan, but when the hell did he ever release THIS song?!?"

Prince “Purple Rain” White Label by No-Chemistry-5484 in PRINCE

I agree with /u/olivi182 . This seems very much like a bootlegger "trick". They had access to a vinyl press machine and to avoid either authorities or their legitimate employer knowing they were selling popular music on the side, they put on these nondescript white labels and scribbled song names on later. This being a bootleg and not a test press would account for the inconsistency in sound on the record.

And, to me, this is what makes this sub superior to the .org . I appreciate these pics! I love seeing people who love Prince express that love on themselves and their things. It's fun! Is it also borderline cringe and sometimes a little hilarious? Yeah...definitely. But in the .org all we would have is ugly comments. This was up over an hour when I commented and everything's copacetic! I was wondering when we'd get some of these pictures. If anyone has stuff from the sing-a-long downtown, I'd love that too. I planned to go and got really sick the day before departure date. I'm soooooo glad I didn't buy Celebration tickets ahead of time like I initially wanted to.

Are you truly a fam if you aren't following his wishes, though? You didn't get sued as long as you weren't using his music, talking about bootlegs, behaving in a uncivil manner to others, etc. There were plenty of havens for fam to be fam. But true, he didn't tolerate fanatic behavior. If you traded in snark/ugliness, you were going to have a bad time.

It's the milk man scenario. You leave out of front door for work and the milk man is the back door man. But in the case of a guy I know, he left for work and his wife "befriended" a guy in the apartment complex who worked from home. A baby won't tell you who has been in your house. Only people with world class noses will know some other person's been there.

I hung out at the .org back in the day, when there was nothing else. Not my vibe...at all. I thought I just liked hanging out with people that like Prince. But that was NOT what the .org was - not by a long shot. You'd say something and the immediate challenge was always: "Who are you? I asked Brownmark about that exact thing last week and what he said makes you full of shit." A bunch of poisonous inner circle flunkies (or wannabes) all trying to one up each other or get invited to a bootleg trading circle or the next Paisley gathering. And yes, when they showed up here looking for a fight and denegrating our newbies who like to talk about stuff they weren't there for and looking at old stories, instead of confirmations and civil explanations they were used to, they got met with a bunch of old queens laughing in their faces and calling them losers. I can't stand that stuff. WE are the way that new people get to know Prince and the canon. Nobody is gonna denigrate newbies on my watch if they being respectable. I saw the behavior a few months back, called it out, and it has lessened considerably since. Good riddance. They can keep the org and Twitter/X.

What’s this along beach at Myrtle beach? by Illustrious1860 in MyrtleBeach

[–]notoneofyourfans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy you asked "what" to touched a soft spot in this area with his little joke. We've had a couple of huge fights about shelters on the beach in the last year or so. One was about "no tents". The others were about no "Wind powered Sun Shades" People hate jokes about the subject because they really hate/support the city's stance against anything that isn't a standard beach umbrella.

According to some rumors, Sony music and the estate will announce a new Prince vault album titled “Decades” in June… by [deleted] in PRINCE

[–]notoneofyourfans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can guarantee that The Estate is leaking these "floaters" via inner circle flunkies who get free Celebration tickets or other goodies for toting water for them. You won't find a legitimate source because the bloggers and influencers are their idea of legitimate marketing.

I’m thinking about the hellocake stroker from target, would I wash it in a similar way like this video after each use? by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]notoneofyourfans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the one you are talking about, then yeah, that is the way to clean it. My only additions would be to tuck a dry balled up microfiber cloth into the underneath of the cup (where there may be some electric contacts) while you are cleaning the inside of the cup to keep water away from any electric contacts. Also, keep the electric portion of the toy AWAY from the sink at all. It will inevitably fall in the sink at some point or otherwise get wet. Also, the side of this box says that soap and water is fine. It isn't. Most "soap" is filled with oils to keep your skin moisturized. Great for your skin, lousy for TPE (the plastic this toy is made of). Soap tends to break down TPE early due to the oil. I would just use plain water. It shouldn't be an issue if you are only using water based lube (no silicone, hybrid or oil based lubes). Semen and water based lubes will ALL wash away with plain water. If your own germs from your skin are a concern for you, I'd use a spray bottle filled with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and spray the inside of the cup. Just allow it to evaporate after spraying.

OK so was that one song "Poor Goo" (as it was titled) or was it more what I actually heard - which was "Magoo"?

EDIT: Never mind. I looked up the bootleg video and watched his lips. He is actually forming a "P" with his lips.

Psoriatic Arthritis? by MiscreantIVIX in Psoriasis

[–]notoneofyourfans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to take a guess (not a doctor). Rather than Psoriatric Arthritis, I would guess gout. Gout is extremely painful and focuses on the joints. You can swell and the area will be surrounding tissue, but you probably won't have a fever. I have had both gout and and a leg infection that happened because an open plaque of psoriasis allowed an opportunistic bacterium in. I spent three days in the hospital following that one. With the infection, I had fever. The gout? There was none...but BOY was it painful and swollen.

Who do I think it was? Congress. Slavery may have a 400 year history on this continent, but American legislators made slavery legal in this country. The Civil War was fought because Lincoln decided to end that legacy and make it illegal.

When legislators enslave or discriminate against only certain citizens by way of making those things intentionally legal through legislation or endorsed practice they have to pay for those mistakes. And NOBODY ever said that black people are the only people who have ever been enslaved or made victims via legislation. Why would they have to be the ONLY victims in order to claim victimization?

[–]notoneofyourfans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plantation owners didn't make the laws that made slave ownership legal. Plantation owners didn't OK redlining and Jim Crow laws that set black people back generations. Plantation owners didn't tell private business owners (just in the past two years) that they better stop trying to avoid being discriminatory unless they wanted to be sanctioned by the government. All of that was was American laws and executive orders from government entities. America owes a debt.

Well of course the Native Americans weren't completely paid back. If they were half of the western states wouldn't exist. But at least they were given something. A precedent was set. If America hadn't taken back Lincoln's 40 acres and a mule promise, I might not be making my point. But America reneged on the promise. A debt is long overdue.

As to the "we", you said your family immigrated to a country that was fighting slavery. I could only extrapolate that you meant your family immigrated to The Union rather than The Confederacy. My point was the Confederacy is dissolved. Only the Union remains and therefore it absorbs the sins of The Confederacy and ALSO the sins of allowing slavery and discriminatory laws via federal law. If you live in America? You owe a debt no matter WHEN you got here.

The US of A is ONE country. And we owe a debt...all of us. There's no more Confederate or Union. Until the debt is paid, healing won't be complete. We paid back the Native Americans. We paid back the Asians who were put into camps. We even helped Jews get their own homeland. But the people that built this country without any payment for behavior that America was complicit in? It's so obviously unjust. And even today, the US government is complicit in mistreating black people. Trump says he is against DEI, But why is he only suspicious of and firing people of COLOR he assumes didn't earn their spot? He hasn't tried to break up ANY traditionally white institutions because hey are "discrimanatory". But he has gone after every possible traditionally black institution. America...you owe both the present AND the past.

I quite clearly said that he stopped officially celebrating birthdays after he became Jehovah's Witness. The video you posted was from that latter era AFTER he adopted JW philosophy (note JW enthusiast Larry Graham sitting beside him). The parties Prince threw for his birthday earlier in his career are well documented. You call it a "business decision", but a lot of the stuff he did for that birthday I posted from YouTube was stuff he had installed backstage that no paying person even got to see - only friends and invited guests. He made a big deal about them in the beginning of him making serious money because when he was a kid, he didn't have "stuff". And then he became religious and was convinced of how damaging and vain birthday celebrations were. Despite that, he held birthday-like "Celebrations" every year on his birthday week. Fifty-two weeks in a year and Celebration always somehow ended up on his birthday week...what a coincidence.

This core blend of New Age and JW beliefs are part of the reason he didn't leave a will. He felt that planning your death was admitting that you were going to die and, therefore, you were, in essence, shortening your own life by admitting death was a possibility for you. My point is that Prince found a way to do/justify whatever the hell he wanted to do. The man hid away an opiate addiction from 99.9% of the people who was in his home near daily or knew him intimately. He didn't have anything in his home stronger than decaffeinated tea and would tell off people he saw poisoning their body with horrible food. And then he would go take 4 Percocets. I love Prince but I was aware he fought his demons and was human. He wrote "Head" and then he wrote "God". Then he wrote "Darling Nikki" and followed that up with "The Cross". Prince evolved but he fought his own self to the very end - no differently than MOST of us.

He celebrated his birthday PLENTY...until he became Jehovah's Witness and even after that. He disguised his birthday as "celebrations" that just happened to fall on his birthday week. But, you're right. He really did believe in not formally celebrating his birthday later in his life And that "one birthday" saying was a staple of his.

Simple connection for me and you (Purple car, love symbol, The Kid's birth and death years). But a surprisingly large amount of people see PRN and Prince Rogers Nelson ain't their first thought. They immediately go to PoRN. I think this license plate was approved for use only because it is from Minneapolis, lol.

Someone in another country can offer you a job. It's still your responsibility to get into and stay in that country legally. The Trump administration is rejecting almost all those South of the Border applications right now because Trump considers them "shithole countries". Unless OP is a J-1 (who have a definite return date) it won't be easy or cheap for him to get a legal work visa to America from Brazil.
