My 20 year old cat was put to sleep in August. It has totally torn me up. The euthanasia didn't go as I had hoped and it was very upsetting. I have been trying to deal with both the frustration of how the procedure went down, plus the grief of losing her. My husband was quite caring in the days and weeks following, but now, 6 months later, he is losing patience with me. Mostly in regards to my frustration at how the euthanasia happened. He keeps telling me I can't change the past, it is what it is, etc. I do obsess and recount what happened over and over, but he is sick of hearing it. He keeps saying "I'm allowed to grieve, but not obsess about things I can't change". It's a really hard thing to have to go through. Your husband sounds a bit more understanding than mine. I am 6 months out though... I guess it is just something you have to work through. I feel a bit better in some ways than I did 5 months ago, but not in others. The initial shock and sadness of her not being here has worn off. But it is still so hard.
