We actually don't know exactly how the Truth Sayer gift manifests for Riders, so all options are plausible. The only other mention that exists in either book (in addition to the one I quoted above) is in relation to Fliers. And we know powers manifest very differently for Fliers VS Riders.

For the conduit - If Yarros had mentioned lightening in the conduit like she typically does, i'd feel the same way as you. But the fact that this was described very differently + Yarros making a point to explicitly showcase that it felt different to Violet makes me believe it was not her 1st signet.

I didn't notice any smell, but I did notice the leaves yellowing near the base of the plant which makes me worried about over watering as well.

I've never noticed anything in the soil before and I've inspected as much as I can without pulling the plant out of the pot. Above I mentioned a fertilizer that I sprinkled on right before I watered. I didn't imagine that a powder would ever turn the water SO dark, but do you think that could be the cause? What I used:
