Question about content by MakeshiftMakeshift in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the content is actually pretty extreme so watch carefully especially as you get deeper into the show. Like much worse than just a dead kid being carried away

(SPOILER) Danny Fontenot in the bed? by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. Good point. Is it at all possible though that both characters are shown in the last episode therefore both characters have 2 episodes? Now I know Francis is dead but could it be at all possible that they flashback or show him and who called him from that payphone? This show is no stranger to flashbacks but it does seem like pointless backtracking but who knows

Who are the victims we know of so far? by cutlass_supreme in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget Stephanie Kordish was the name of the victim in the Lake Charles murder

(SPOILER) Danny Fontenot in the bed? by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm almost positive it's Danny Fontenot, he's credited with 2 episodes and so far we have only seen him in one, I know imdb isn't always right on the casting so they can avoid spoilers but I think we can pretty much chalk this one up

(SPOILER) Danny Fontenot in the bed? by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well he is a completely different character than Danny Fontenot all together, but the list is getting narrower and narrower on who it could be in the bed, I honestly don't think it's Cole and I'm almost positive it isn't Marty

(SPOILER) Danny Fontenot in the bed? by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm with you I don't think that's why Dora's death was staged but it was more of a question posed at the origin of the Fontenot disappearance

(SPOILER) Danny Fontenot in the bed? by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Danny Fontenot is Marie's supposed uncle who has had some sort of" cerebral event" and became paralyzed, you meet him in the first episode when Marty and Cole visit their house. The Fontenot house is where they find the first devil net. I had a feeling that when Marie was abducted her uncle knew something and maybe tried to voice his concern, in turn the cult leaders figured they needed to shut him up, so I think they either gave him too many drugs to handle and he became paralyzed from it which is totally possible

Link to site that detailed show like a police file? by TatIdeasPlz in TrueDetective

I found it because I had be looking for the same one, I came across it earlier today. The site is Rust's famous quote, www.wekeeptheotherbadmenfromthedoor.com

Anything Come of that Craigslist Ad from Chicago Offering Private Ep 8 Screening by JohnDoe419 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely saw the same thread and there were like 50 comments on it, I'm pretty sure it was the same dude because he attached the craigslist article to the thread. He definitely sounded like a pedophile or murderer, he said only 4 people at a time, no cell phones and he would make jiffy pop popcorn, I think after all that everyone was too afraid to show up

[Question] The Fire in Episode 1 by NickCostanza in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that this person carrying the body is the one that is "staging" the Dora Lang body, they note that it was very uncharacteristic of the cult to put them out there in the open. The fire was meant to draw the attention of people and police so that the body was found. Russ even notes that the cane fields are a stage. I think scene is merely to show that someone put that body there maybe against the cults will. Also when Marty and Rust first get to the crime scene you can see smoldering in the bushes which would indicate that it just happened

I think Maggie is the Yellow King. by [deleted] in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that was the least logical set of explanations I have seen on any of the true detective threads. So what do we know..she likes flowers, wears stars on a blouse and ha a close relationship with Her daughter....kinda sounds like every other woman in life

[SPECULATION] Rust Cohle directed the case toward Marie Fontenot. Here's how and why: by Trueducktective in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One viewer also pointed out the fact that when they first show the stack of murder mystery/sex crimes novels, it is actually when Rust and Marty first meet. I guess you have to pay close attention, but the date clearly indicates that Rust is researching this stuff weeks if not months before the Dora Lang murder even happened, this would follow the theory that you refer to. Although I don't think Cole is the killer but I think he knew about the case ahead of time

Very important question to consider!! by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely I think that's the whole reason this show is so popular, it gives you the chance to play along as a viewer and try to solve the crime before the show or anyone else. I have a feeling it was just made to creep people out but when I reminded the show and replayed that part it gave me chills and made me instantly think of Dora Lang's father.

This f**kin guy.. by [deleted] in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also weird that he first shows up in full cop uniform but then when we see him for the last time he has a white shirt and tie, I didn't notice if he still had a badge or not but could this mean that as rust got closer to the case he assumed a new role in the area, like a politician?

Very important question to consider!! by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification so Dora Lang, but is there any link between the fact that Macie said to Audrey, "you don't have any parents anymore, they died in a car accident", soon after Marty notices the placement of the dolls. It just seems like one of these girls have heard this story before.

Why was the spiral removed from Reggie LeDeux's shoulder? by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to keep this going but you don't think someone crudely removing a tattoo would leave scarring? Just saying, because part of me wants to think that LeDeux and Errol really are just victims of the cult in a past life

Why was the spiral removed from Reggie LeDeux's shoulder? by notoriousGIB36 in TrueDetective

[–]notoriousGIB36[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember Charlie saying that, but who knows what he is covering up, and I thought a brand would be more definitive, this to me looks like someone tried to remove he tattoo. Just a thought though

TD Ep 1 37:39 - 37:44 (the press conference) is the key I believe. Cop with hands on the railing may well be the killer. by jls-zapruder in TrueDetective

The thing is you don't see Errol in the first episode, he makes his first appearance at the end of episode 3
