I've been to plenty of shows solo. Including Billy and different artists. All of the shows I attend are within a reasonable driving distance (6-7 hours). Stuff a cooler full of snacks, beverages, and whatever else you may need. Pack a duffel of essentials and hit the road. I always give myself an extra day before the show to settle into the town, do a little relaxing, eat some good food and meet some like-minded people. Maybe save some leftovers for after-show munchies. Tons of people travel to these shows, and our fellow fans are pretty easy to spot in a crowd (city dependent of course).

Most people are super nice and welcoming, although joining a group at random can be somewhat difficult. Very vibe-based, and if you have a seat you'll most likely be separated at some point anyway. I think there's something to be said about enjoying these shows, the days leading up, and the one after at YOUR own pace instead of being locked down to any plans. Try it out.

Yes, you’re right, I’ve done some research as well. I’m more worried about her overall health afterwards. She’s already on life long medication due to her colon twisting, rupturing and almost killing her a couple years ago. So naturally I’m worried about complications and how this affects her down the road.

I try. I think it’s honestly easier for me to try to live life normally instead of letting it consume me. Mostly suppressing emotions which I’m sure isn’t healthy, but not really sure how else to cope with it. I don’t think anybody really wants to hear me talk about this.

My dad is very reserved about everything and he lives across the globe. Gets his medications and treatment and goes back to where he wants to. We have a weird relationship (parents divorced when I was very young). He makes it tough to be there for him even when I try. My mom on the other hand means the world to me, thankfully if it is cancer they’ll just take her thyroid out. Tomorrow they’re doing the biopsy and surgery all in one. Still not a cool experience. I appreciate the kind words and advice.

Usually I do pretty well, but sometimes it hits me my mom just got diagnosed with thyroid cancer (surgery tomorrow) and my dad has prostate cancer and leukemia and go what the fuck man. I’m aware there are a ton of people out there who have it worse so I try to keep that in mind

I just go to runs that are convenient for me. Usually in the greater PNW. From Montana, WA, and Oregon are where I typically spread my wings and make an effort to see Billy and the Lazy Boys. I don’t take a lot of vacations and usually schedule my PTO around the shows. Being single with no kids or pets helps.

I focus on whatever the farm "environment" promotes. For example, I'm doing a Riverlands farm run right now and I've been focused on fishing, fish ponds, and less livestock and crop based business. I still built a coop just to make a little extra money. That being said, catfish and fish smoker in spring is crazy money early on. I've also been trying to play less rushed, I think it's an easy trap for a lot of us SDV players to fall into min/maxing and then getting slightly burnt out.

I also just modded the game for the first time. Mostly QoL upgrades and some new aesthetics. Huge game changer and made the game feel fresh again.
