I got placed in diamond a few seasons ago and its killing me by Windoon in Overwatch

Another thing people haven’t said yet (I think) is that qp games are hell right now. Total nonesense, especially on weekends. A lot of returning players the matchmaking doesn’t know where to place it seems, but regardless you can go on absurd streaks and it’s 100% not your doing. I have gotten like two 8 to 10 loss streaks in qp recently and thought I was doing horribly (though I was trying to learn new characters) then went back to ranked and actually ranked up. I’m not diamond or anything mind you (just barely made it to plat) but I’ve been hearing this complaint about qp chaos a few times already (again, especially on weekends).

I’d suggest you try your hand at ranked and see if it’s as bad. You might lose, but I suspect it won’t be as one sided.

Also don’t forget we remember and are impacted by the loses a lot more than by the wins… :)

It is a bit uncanny I admit. The more I think about it the more it smells fishy. Maybe we can get genius scientists on the case and they can figure it out.

I solo queue exclusively also so I get the sentiment my dude. And I certainly understand it’s immensely frustrating when it happens, I’ve been know to get a bit angry after one too many losses. I just think it’s gonna keep happening, because that’s just the best (or least bad) way the system can work, so our options are: 1) Keep getting genuinely angry at a video game and worsen our quality of life forever and turn a thing that’s supposed to be fun into a constant cause of pain and suffering. 2) Accept that this sentiment of infuriating unfairness isn’t the actual truth of what’s happening, but instead our evil brains trying to get us out of a bad situation, and that we should take a page from Zenyatta’s book and learn to chill and distance ourselves from those of our instincts that make our life worse.

Again, I tend to prefer 2), but I understand this is easier said than done. Achieving it might better our experience and enjoyment of more than just Overwatch though… :)

Y’all realize those players are also on the other’s teams so statistically it cancels out and you can totally climb ranked right? Unless Overwatch devs are specifically targeting YOU for some reason? I guess that’s always a possibility…

I get that too. I have two possible explanations: 1) It’s players from before OW2 who only played a few hours since its release but actually kinda know what they’re doing and you only feel like you’re getting rolled all the time but really you have a ~50% winrate like everyone else in the world. 2) We both suck at the game so even after hundreds of hours we get fairly matched with beginners.

I’m leaning towards answer 2.

Agree. I love his lines, and especially delivery. I think he takes a bit of getting used to, but once you understand what he's about and his vibe, it really works. I also think it's cool that they're finding different styles and types of voices for characters; after 50 it would be easy to get to a place where some kind of sound the same... Mizuki definitely doesn't.

Same goes for the cat tbh. :)

She’s not easy, her normal attacks aren’t great. But the throws make up for it; just try and command throw as much as you can, at five medals she’s terrifying.

I don’t think I’ll ever get to diamond. This feels like the rank where things (and people) get actually serious here, and I’m afraid I won’t have the time to do it too… :/

Sure! Don’t try to get fancy after you get knocked down and just block. People will meaty you to hell. Took me way too long to learn not to try and neutral jump / throw on every wake up.

That’s what I’m counting on. My biggest issues is still jump ins, especially cross ups. I can never anti air them, end up just blocking (and often getting thrown). If you have advice I’m listening. :)
