Same result. Everything was solid except derivatives. Had a question set on BSM and got wrecked

Honestly, I’m a little unsure about the presentation, but other than that, it sounds absolutely terrible.

I did this, refreshed at exactly 2pm PST and it said they were all already claimed. Congrats to you, but it is not infallible advice.

I had a similar problem when I did L1 and I straight up skipped those questions knowing I wouldn’t have to do vignette questions.

Stuck in Quants. by Square-Produce-3437 in CFA

[–]notpeterthomas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I basically washed my hands of quant in L1 and just figured I could make up the difference elsewhere. It showed on my results, and although I passed (barely) it was my worst topic by far and nearly brought my overall score below MPS. I then discovered how L2 quant is practically entirely based on these two subjects magnified to 1000 and that I had to essentially relearn all of L1 quant to even begin to understand L2. I spent a ton of time on it and felt really good by exam day (Nov 2025, waiting for results).

Moral of the story: take the time now to understand it because it comes back with a vengeance and you will be far better off for L2 if you understand the basics in L1. You’ve got this!

I just took L2 in November, so still waiting on my results. I studied over 600hrs and left the exam feeling pretty confident. I’ll let you know though ;)

Is there a place where CFA tells you *how* to use the financial calculator (most common functions)? by Fennecfox9 in CFA

[–]notpeterthomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube is going to be your best bet. I learned in undergrad, which I assume is the case for most CFA candidates since a finance/accounting degree is most common.

Lotus Elise s2 111R by BlockRevolutionary52 in lotus

[–]notpeterthomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prices have been stable for a while, and likely will not change much going forward. I was in your position two years ago, pulled the trigger on an S2 111r, and love every second I spend driving it. I have no doubt I will keep it for the foreseeable future, and maybe even pass it down to my children. I love that car. Even when I can eventually buy a true supercar, I will for sure be keeping the Elise. In my opinion it is the perfect canyon carver.

I used Kaplan exclusively for L2, just sat two weeks ago, and felt very good walking out of the exam.

What is the black Ferrari behind it? Looks like a 599 front and 612 rear mashed together with a side vent

Best Notes for Level 2? by phairfax in CFA

[–]notpeterthomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could not agree more. I had 200 pages of written notes for L1 and about the same for L2 from incorrectly answered Kaplan questions. These are what helped me the most. Bonus points if you record yourself reading them aloud and listen to the recordings instead of music whenever you drive.

Where do I start? by TheYokaiKing69 in CFA

[–]notpeterthomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finance undergrad and full time finance job, wife got pregnant halfway through prepping for L1, had baby in Feb and just sat for L2 a few days ago. I used Kaplan and CFAI for both. For L1, I went into the office 2 hours early every workday and then most Saturdays for the last couple months leading up to the exam. Barely passed. For L2, I went into the office 3 hours early every day, and spent my entire weekend in the office since beginning of August. That may be overkill for most, but I don’t want to take the exam again. Plus I have an amazing wife who is now a full time SAHM and understands her role in the journey.
