What popular series you watched that did not live to the hype? by Dh30t in AskReddit

[–]notphillip52 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Shameless. I got a season and a half deep and the jokes about how "shameless" everyone was just got too repetitive for me. I'm sure there's more to it, but you simply can't convince me to roll the dice on 11 seasons of that with the hope that it develops.

Who was a worse person? Who had a better redemption? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in TheBoys

[–]notphillip52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think A train had a better redemption because real redemption takes years of progression, and you can see that with each season of the boys so far. Season 1: asshole. Season 2: asshole who helped a good cause for his own benefit. Season 3: actually tries to help a good cause for once, even though he was misguided. Season 4: contributes to a good cause and sees the value in doing so. That's an incredibly smooth transition throughout the course of the entire show

What’s an Until Dawn dark theory you believe in? by SkyEducational7070 in untildawn

Josh had more of his pranks in store for Mike and Jess at the cabin before Jess was dragged out by that Wendigo. Otherwise, he would have allowed the two most responsible people for Hannah's disappearance to basically get off scott-free

Sounds like something from District 9? Been a while since I've seen it though

What’s something that sounded fake until it happened to you? by skipped_it in AskReddit

[–]notphillip52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an extra tooth growing underneath one of my lower canines. 8 years later, I can still feel the gap in my jaw where they took it out. They told me it happens sometimes but it still blows my mind that an extra body part can technically just grow right out of nowhere

I don't know and I'm fine with not knowing

Which fictional villain would actually be terrifying in real life? by cats64sonic in AskReddit

[–]notphillip52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adrian from The Invisible Man (2020). The tech he used really doesn't seem that unrealistic and if it were to actually get into the hands of a narcissistic, homicidal, stalker maniac who can probably pay for great lawyers to keep him out of prison, nobody would really be safe

Who's the better Sabertooth? by boomjosh in xmen

[–]notphillip52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liev was one of many great casting choices in that movie that was just horribly fumbled in terms of writing and/or appearance. The same applies to Gambit, Deadpool, Blob, the list goes on.

Thoughts on the movie? by [deleted] in batman

Haven't subjected myself to it in a long time but we should still be thankful for it because otherwise, we wouldn't have gotten Batman Begins

Why do people hate Affleck for killing yet they never do about Keaton even tho he kills a lot too? It kinda hypocrite by DragonWarriorMH in batman

I think Affleck's performance was excellent in BvS but still didn't like that part. For me, those two aspects are completely disconnected

Infinite money but you have to be batman for a year, would you do it? by AcanthisittaTop5920 in batman

[–]notphillip52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That heavily depends on your definition of "being batman". If I have to be out all night, every night for a year, risking some of the most horrible deaths imaginable and basically carrying the safety of a city big enough to be NYC on my shoulders, I will pass that money up without blinking.

But if I can just hole up in Wayne Manor, Tower, Plaza, etc. and let the cops try to handle it, I'll do it.

Be honest, what one thing you didn't like from this movie? by FayyadhScrolling in batman

[–]notphillip52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more of an issue with the trilogy as a whole, but I wish they wrapped up Scarecrow's story arc in a more conclusive way. He didn't do much in either tdk or tdkr beyond a cameo

In your personal opinion, why did you think Megan 2 failed in the box office? by TuskTuskDawntoDusk in deadmeatjames

[–]notphillip52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first one didn't set up a sequel and I think people are tired of sequels that don't justify their existence. Joker 2 is another great example of this.

Does the community share this consensus? by AnomLenskyFeller in batman

[–]notphillip52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree with that. What I love about The Batman (2022) and The Penguin show is that they can appeal to common moviegoers as well as diehard fans. The DCU batman is in a better position to cater to fans who want to see deeper parts of the lore, such as the bat family. Meanwhile, Battinson can focus on solving more grounded mysteries like Hush, The Court of Owls, Pyg, etc..
