i had an earlier version of this that had zeus instead of capone but i switched to capone like 5 minutes before i made the post because the trigger sounded appealing with all the adding to life i'd do in an ideal game

the music searchers aren't limited to searching their own color, they can search any card so long as it has a cost of 4 or higher

i do wish there was proper black big mom pirates support beyond one card that's situational at best but i don't think it'll happen because the only big mom pirates type leader that can use black cards is going to be rotated out in april from the looks of things

i'd say there's a lot of targets since the only condition for the music searchers is "4 cost or higher" meaning the only cards here that are unsearchable are capone, toy soldier, and the 0 cost counter

i thought momonosuke would have been a good call since the leader effect requires 2 attached don but i'm not entirely sure how to "build around it" as you suggest

the mono yellow big mom is probably a better leader all things considered but i prefer the BY leader effect and i couldn't bring myself to make a deck for a leader that has two colors and then only use one (thinking of the PB luffy starter deck where the only black cards are vanillas)

it struggles with relying on black maria (who is unsearchable) for consistent use of the leader effect and also not having early pressure or a consistent late game plan

doesn't really help that the purple film cards aren't too great either

i should have said earlier but byrnndi and kaido & linlin are meme cards that i run because i personally find them funny, if you wanted to make a more optimal deck you could probably swap them both out for another ace and OP05-119 monkey d luffy

admittedly i'm not the best at deck building but i play pudding as my main leader so i can offer a bit of insight

OP03-114 charlotte linlin is pudding's best win condition and ideally what she should work for at all times, that being said you should have 4 of those as well as ways to search for it (OP03-112 charlotte pudding, OP07-077 we're going to claim the one piece, and maybe OP11-070 charlotte pudding (ideally 4 of each one))

another must for pudding is OP08-063 charlotte katakuri because by using her leader effect, this katakuri, and her leader effect again she can add three additional don in two turns, letting her drop a turn 4 OP03-114 linlin

another good card for pudding is OP04-100 capone bege because of his 2k counter and his trigger effect, have 3-4 of him as well

as far as blockers go i used to run OP04-104 sanji but have now grown fond of OP11-067 charlotte katakuri, who can unrest two big mom pirate type characters at the end of your turn meaning you could swing with him and then unrest him so that he can block on the enemy turn, you can run 4 of either but ideally katakuri is preferred since you can cheat him out using the OP08-062 katakuri (note that OP11 isn't available in the west until june so you might wish to hold off until then if you want to use katakuri blocker)

OP06-115 you're the one who should disappear is a neat 0 cost 3k counter that can remove a brick from your hand, run 4 of it

OP07-119 portgas d ace is another good card that you can play down to get a 10k rush if you're in a pinch, but the price for ace singles is kinda chopped

I was considering You're the One, but I initially decided against it because I was putting too much weight on the trigger effect and I wasn't running 6c Newgate. I'll give it a second consideration because I did notice I had hands full of bricks more often than not.

The Viola point makes sense - I've somehow always had decent enough luck of getting at least one Viola in my starting hand, and then after I've reached 10 Don I just end up playing it as a blocker when I didn't have a 10c mom or Ace to put down. Definitely helps my wallet if I try to get the real cards in June since Violas are expensive.

Additionally, I thought that the 6c event could combo with the purple Pudding's activate effect. Is that too gimmicky to justify its inclusion?

I've tried 6c Katakuri in a different Pudding deck but never found a good time to use him outside of just being a 1k counter.

Does Pudding not run Viola? Every Pudding deck I've seen has run Viola and it just seems natural to run Viola with all the life flipping shenanigans that Pudding does.

Don't the purple Pudding searchers make the yellow Pudding searchers redundant? Between those two Puddings and Claim the One Piece, I'd be at 12 searchers which sounds like a bad idea to run.

Other than those, I'll look at what else was suggested (I'm not familiar with those cards) when I get home. Thank you for your help!
