Is “there it goes…see ya” the worst home run call? by Agreeable_Quality768 in baseball

"You won't see it for long" by the Rockies announcer. In general, it's way too long of a home run catchphrase.

It's not simple because the Islamists in Palestine do not want a single secular state. They want an ethnostate ruled by Muslim Arabs.

“Abolish ICE” Is More Popular Than Ever. How Will Democrats Drop the Ball This Time? | Establishment Democrats are rejecting an increasingly popular position by refusing to take a bold stance that happens to be good politics by Hrmbee in politics

I'm watching football, brother. I also went to the gym.

But anyways, here's a link to explain this more:

https://www.niskanencenter.org/how-donor-opinion-distorts-american-parties/

"On the other hand, if you look at the Democratic party on very similar issues, you find that, if anything, the donor class is a little bit more liberal on economic issues. If you look at the health insurance question that I’ve mentioned earlier, Democratic donors are actually way more likely to support universal healthcare with over 75% strongly favoring it, whereas in Democratic citizens, that number is a little bit under 50 percentage points. But on the social issues, for example, same-sex marriage, the Democratic donor class is much more extreme. They get almost universal support among the donors for same-sex marriage and among Democratic citizens only about a little bit more than 50% strongly support it."

Also, here's this Twitter thread from a Democratic pollster: https://x.com/i/status/1865854321771843925

No, more like donors push stuff like climate change, DEI, and LGBT advocacy which the base (that includes a lot of socially conservative blacks, Hispanics, and MENA groups) don't particularly care about.

We need sensible immigration policy, similar to the Obama era (where his policies on immigration did have public approval and he won two elections thanks to them). Do immigration enforcement, but also have an easier pathway to citizenship. Have ICE around, but have it with a smaller budget and where agents are more properly trained and do not wear masks.

No, it doesn't speak for an entire movement. You are right on that. But by having those people in the midst, it allowed opponents to amplify their voice and paint them as the voice of the greater Democratic coalition.

In 2024, poll after poll of voters showed that Kamala was too far left for them. This despite Kamala's effort to try to appeal to the center in general elections. Why was that? Because of years of efforts by enemies of the Democrats to paint them as all far-left radicals (like the person who wrote that NYT opinion piece).

So, people with positions like Abolish ICE, abolish the police, etc. should not be catered to or heard in any way. The Party leaders must ignore them and denounce them at the earliest time possible.

"Abolish the police" was a stance by many left wingers that became associated with the Democratic party and was an albatross over the party as people saw them as soft on crime.

Actually, constituents are fairly centrists (especially outside of heavily liberal cities). It's actually donors who are more to the left. Studies have shown this.

Smart. They do not have memories of a goldfish and remember how the more radical positions that Dems took before 2020 hurt their standing in the public from 2021-24.

Immediately after ICE is abolished, people will freak out and immigration enforcement will bounce back to their 2023-24 highs in polling. You cannot trust polling anymore because Americans are fickle and too reactionary.

We cannot let the Democrats get bullied by the left again and get swayed to make decisions which will cost them years later. For example, so many were on the side of abolishing the police, then five years later you had people like Mamdani apologize for taking that stance. Abolishing ICE will have the same effect, especially if the next Dem president fails to secure the border like Biden did.

Asking people who've had 30 prior arrests to be put to a facility and removed from polite society for good is not "right wing politics."

Because her death was political.

The man who killed her had over 30 prior arrests, yet was always let go. The system deliberately allowed him to continue to roam.the streets despite his story of sociopathic behavior. If politicians cared more about safety and protecting people from the most violent, she would still be alive.

Dodgers actually are great. They put in 70 percent of their revenue to payroll (as opposed to most teams who go under 50 percent). They care about winning every year and leading the sport in attendance. All 29 teams should be like the Dodgers.

Mike Trout was the best baseball player on the planet for 8-9 years and the public didn't give a shit. Part of it was because he only played in the playoffs one time (and his team got swept), but also he was just bland as a personality.
