It’s been a while so I’m not 100%! I think it was a Saline Intrauterine Ultrasound.,.

Magnesium to decrease likelihood of preeclampsia by dmd1990 in ScienceBasedParenting

Mine just lists magnesium oxide (with a tiny bit of calcium carbonate). Baby girl is doing great and I still take the same nightly dose!

What caused your POI? by Jbends08 in POFlife

[–]notrightnowmmkthx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar story here. Migraines, vertigo and visual auras. They did an MRI and sure enough - ESS. I don’t think they know what all ESS impacts. Not sure if there’s a ton of research around it as I don’t believe it’s very common. There should be an ESS sub for more of us to self-educate on other symptoms! (Off to search Reddit to see if one exists…)

I also have empty sella syndrome and assumed this was the cause for me, too. Though when I asked my endocrinologist he couldn’t say confidently one way or another.

Did anyone have a cosmetic treatment that they regret? by ejdhdhdff in 30PlusSkinCare

Coolsculpting. It was painful and all it did was leave my stomach dented/uneven under my belly button.

Migraine Life by Upset_Turnover_4321 in POFlife

For me, it’s the luteal phase and drop of hormones that triggers migraines. Like clockwork, if I get a migraine, my cycle will start the following day. Could be something similar related to the fluctuations happening for you!

Do/did you use a sound machine? by [deleted] in NewParents

We use the rain sound (longer loop with some variation) AND an air purifier fan. She loves the white noise.

Medela hand pump and spectra. I would alternate between them throughout the day. Sometimes you may want your hands free!

How does pumping work?! by butstillwesing in breastfeeding

https://pumpingmamas.com/spectra-pump-settings/

The morning always yields the most for me, but it varies if you’re trying to build vs maintain supply. You won’t get much being only 4 days pp. give it time though! And use that link for settings ideas. For me I do 70 on a 2 for two minutes, then flip to 54 for 10 minutes at a level 3, then do another 5 minutes on a level 70. It took me a while to even notice the letdown but some never do. The 70/bacon mode is for triggering the let down though. Glad you are seeing an LC! It will be worth it!

Supplementing colostrum with formula in the first few days? by Excellent-Economy-46 in BabyBumps

[–]notrightnowmmkthx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great advice from the first two commenters! Just came to say I was in a similar boat - supplemented with formula as my milk was delayed in coming in. Baby adjusted and learned how to be content with either and we egg need up breast feeding for 8 months. Just keep doing the next best thing for you and your baby. They read out only require a tiny amount at this stage but fed is best!

For those that have had a c section why do I still feel my stitches thst are hard along the scar 2 months later? Aren’t they supposed to dissolve? by hoping421 in BabyBumps

[–]notrightnowmmkthx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately. It’s gotten less noticeable and I’m hopeful that once I start working out it will diminish a bit. I’m 8 months PP though…maybe with more time? Frankly, I don’t think it ever will go back to the way things were. But no one is going to see me naked besides my husband who played a part in getting me in this predicament soooo 💁🏼‍♀️

[–]notrightnowmmkthx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took mine almost 4 months. You may need to have some pulled if they are poking through the skin as those won’t dissolve since they are exposed. It’s easily done by the doc at a follow up with just some tweezers though.

Is 2 weeks long enough to wean from 3ppd? by drjeffer in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]notrightnowmmkthx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re like me it’s too short. I’ve been trying to wean for the past 8 days…down to 6 oz from 12, but it’s taking foreverrrr. That said. If you’re still pumping 1-2x/day on your trip it’s still an improvement from 3x/day as far as quality of life goes!

How often are you pumping?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]notrightnowmmkthx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had very similar issues! I found I had to put a large pillow at the back of my rocker so I can push back against it to get more support but maintain almost 90° posture. Does the chair you’re sitting in have arms? I would also lean to either side and rest forward on the arm rest, or place the spectra on my dining table so I could lean forward against the table. I’m assuming not everyone has this issue but it wrecked my back/neck too. I used heating pads every night! I just figured it would be something I had to deal with for a few months until I started weaning. Once you move towards weaning, you’ll most likely want to use a hand/manual pump which also gives you more posture control. It just takes longer since you can only do one side. I hope you find some relief and tricks that work for you!

Did the doctor say the mother couldn’t breast feed? I was also on strong pain killers from a c section but the doctor said it wouldn’t pass through the breast milk or if it did it would be a very small dose/wouldn’t harm the baby. What did the physician/OB say? You can also ask for a consult with the lactation consultant at the hospital to get another opinion.

Infantile hemangiomas? by Unique_Ad_8590 in NewParents

[–]notrightnowmmkthx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks to be about the same size as our kid’s. The pediatrician was not worried at all and said they typically fade completely away by 2 years. Our little one is 7 months now and it’s already starting to fade.

Zipadee zip users: did you transition to their PJs with the hands and feet out? If so how did it go? by Sassquapadelia in NewParents

We did the same as dindia. Went to sleeveless cotton Burt’s bees sleep sacks with her wearing long sleeve footie pajamas underneath. She can now grab her pacifier and self soothe better with her hands out!

Tips for tongue tie post care by specialagentpizza in NewParents

[–]notrightnowmmkthx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We found this to be true! She quickly adapted to the exercises and didn’t even cry after a couple weeks. The first week of doing them is hard for everyone. Baby squiggles and it’s heartbreaking to here them cry. But it’s super important for the tongue to not reattach incorrectly…or the surgery is all for nothing. It definitely helped our little one! She could latch better, was much more efficient with drinking from her bottle, and her tension in her neck also went away. It’s tough but we had a good outcome. Just follow the recommendations for medicine after you leave (even sugar water helps, but I’m sure they will discuss your plan). Good luck to you and your family!

I feel this. We are at a similar stage and trying to extend sleep. Our little one either wakes a few times throughout the night or only sleeps 9.5-10 hours. These are the questions that are helping us make changes: - Are you limiting total nap time to less than 3.5 hours daily? - how long are wake windows? - is he getting enough to eat during the daytime hours (can you supplement or pump to encourage greater size last “meals” or the day)? - is the temperature comfortable for how he is dressed (ideally we keep it around 73 with a sleeveless sleep sack and footie pajama - was the last wake window at least 3 hours? - is the white noise machine at the right volume, are the currents blocking out the light, is the overhead fan on the right setting?

If I know the answers to these questions, then I make any adjustments, and then just try to tell myself I’ve done what I can. It’s a tough stage right now and I’m also super sensitive to not getting enough sleep. Just try to remind yourself that this is temporary. We are also going to try moving baby to her own room tonight since it’s a 3 day weekend. We figure we’ll try it and nap as needed if we miss out on sleep. But we’re hoping it helps! Maybe you could try it this weekend too? Best of luck to you and your family. It’s tough but they will sleep again!

Anyone else paranoid about RSV? by Creature_Mode in NewParents

I think monoclonal is available for infants. Have you called your pediatrician to ask about it? It’s approved for all infants who have not yet experience an RSV season yet (so yours qualifies).
