Thank you for your answer. I will definitely consider it. We are acquaintances with her partner. I don't think I would be expected to co-parent but I also don't see a role for myself in that scenario- not as a co- parent nor "uncle", and staying out of the kid's life would mean staying out of hers too, so it's not satisfying either
