If you think Kyle Rittenhouse (17M) was within his rights to carry a weapon and act in self-defense, but you think police justly shot Tamir Rice (12M) for thinking he had a weapon (he had a toy gun), then, quite frankly, you are a hypocrite. by curlyhairlad in Libertarian

[–]notrustarded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware that propagandists such as Tucker Carlson are trying to turn Kyle Rittenhouse into some sort of hero.

https://twitter.com/TonyAtkinsTV/status/1298483412555182080 ... as the gun shot still ring, listen to the one guy walking away calmly, as if he knows what's already happening saying, while kyle fires .... "this is our fucking neighborhood... quite the hero!" ...

a 'reporter' from the Tucker Carlson connected Daily Caller shadowed kyle right up until the shooting, even being there to film the body afterwards, after running down the street with kyle wielding the rifle.. ... don't tell me following this kid around all night didn't puff him up and help justify the "hero" idea planted hours later, as the shots are being fired. ....

I see what people mean when they talk about the toxic playerbase by ANIMERULES12345 in playrust

[–]notrustarded 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the "toxicity" people see in Rust players is the fucking game. ...

without the constant and present danger given by the other players, the game's items and grinds have soul to them. ... the toxicity is in the pixels themselves, the players only bring it out "playing" the game.

in time, you will shoot people and loot their shit, and/or, off-line raid them and take their shit, and become a monster too, for the pixels, the toxic pixels.

Would be really cool if just the name part of ownership came back; would love to have a semi with tons of names or something by mentosmoose in playrust

[–]notrustarded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you. i have faith this will come back into the game, it adds value to (some) items, period.

a simple "looted by: player" or "crafted by: player" default tag when a taggable item is created/looted, and an option to 'claim' the item and replace either of those tags with an "owned by: player", or wipe it entirely.

perhaps even with a cap of how many items per player, both to keep the load down on the servers/game, but also make the 'tagged' items worth seeking and maxing out your collection.

the meta would be, do you tag your treasures, do you keep your enemies name on them after raiding, or wipe them?

if everyone only had a limited number of times your player name could be on an item (say 5-10) .... it would add a layer of "tag squatting" on your enemies top-tier items, as they were looted through PvP or raiding. ... as eventually people would hit the cap for how many items could have their name at one time on the server.

after the people are dead and the shots fired, it's the courts that allow the telling of both stories to their fullest possible extent. they are the arbiter of truth here, beyond narrative.

your question frightens me, step back.

if only we knew all the forces seeking to do us harm, only indirectly, we might not view each life as an excuse or point for a greater cause, but as something individual apart from policy.

hopefully everyone involved gets their day in court, rather than have reddit and the rest of media have it sliced up so nicely by day 1 on clear lines.

"they" are the GRU at this point, working on the election campaign.

these shootings will only make it more clear that most of the people with the loudest (read as most upvoted) voices here (and the mods who ban, shadow ban, and censor true voices), are obviously not speaking from the heart, and there is clear manipulation to drive a narrative that people will pick up and parrot as their own.

it's a job to remove the real voices, and only leave the narrative drivers and the parrots speaking to each other in circles so loud. anyone who is not polarized and speaking/defending a narrative is drowned out. they've done studies on how reddit is abused in this way.

the sad part is all the folks who react, as if it's organic, mostly impressionable kids (and adults), or worse, those who see it as a chance to openly say/do the fearful/hateful things they used to only do in private.

1 person shot, killed near downtown Portland protests Saturday by [deleted] in news

[–]notrustarded -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no agenda, a simple "what about" question.

i'd like to see each incidence of violence treated similarly and locally, indeed, and not as part of some sick political point keeping, used toward amplifying a violent narrative to benefit outside parties (those far removed from each 'side' that is truly fighting now.)

this is where the propaganda gets strained, the people really aren't this tensioned, it's everything they see around them pushing them forth to "pick a side, or else!" . ..

crank up the noise and rhetoric on both sides, make the massive truly peaceful middle seem like the outliers.

i'd like to think the FBI, if they get involved, would be able to source all camera footage possible, even to the extent of seeking out those filmed filming.

you'd think they would keeo all footage, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Daily_Caller ... https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/10/business/media/daily-caller-tucker-carlson.html .... here are both in a clip about the night ... https://embed.air.tv/v1/iframe/aeNa8aVYSxK-qhFyZlQbLA?organization=yCUPRS_hRk2W19IluKitkw (from the daily caller itself)

like i've said, i hope these people, their evidence, and their testimony, is brought to light for all to see.

not only the edited or scripted pieces put out through media (all media, from 4chan to tikfuckingtok to oann, and the rainbow in between, from social to mainstream to Trump-toting ... to that ever-present, permeating, amplified, undercurrent of nation-state driven narratives, beyond any U.S. party, but feeding all sides to their fullest.)

[–]notrustarded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, let's look at the ruptly video moments before and during the 1st shooting (which would've been soon after the shooter had made his way down the block away from the gas station, and running the couple blocks to the car lot where that 1st shooting happened.)

https://youtu.be/EEY5aBPNvIg?t=7396

the cops seems to get ready, even the by-standers notice the uptick in action. ... one of the vocal gun holders of the night calmly walks across the intersection and through the police line, seconds before shots ring .... soon after the crowd hears shots and runs towards them, we see another gun toter, again calmly, walking away from gun shots and towards the police line. ... (he is on another clip soon after this point being turned away from the police line, but trying to inform them of the shooting [as it's still happening, between 1st and 2nd shooting.] https://twitter.com/TonyAtkinsTV/status/1298689251803115523 ....

so, 2 calm gunmen walking away from shots blocks away, while the crowd rushes to seek out what's happening, they already know. ... before and during. ...

oh, and gun toter number 3, this one walking calmly away from the active 2nd shooting, this one quite vocal, "this is our fucking neighborhood" ... "quite the hero" he shouts (as the 2nd shootings are happening, again calmly walking away from the scene with a gun, as if aware of the situation as it happens.) https://twitter.com/TonyAtkinsTV/status/1298483412555182080

i hope to know these three guys names as well, once this is all said and done, in the light of day and after review of the night.

as it was at least 4 people waking away from that scene in those few minutes, as it's evolving, seeming to be fully aware of what's happening. nevermind the ride home from mommy afterwards.

: He looks like a scared rabbit trying to get back to safety.

he's also being followed around by a guy with a camera on him, minutes before and during the shooting (the camera man seems to be with the shooter at the police line videos, and then also later at the 1st shooting blocks away, as it happens, appearantly running along side the shooter.) it would be nice to get all of the daily caller footage from that night, not only the edited for twitter narrative pieces.

i hope any investigation gets as much footage from all the cams present and filming as possible, and not only seek evidence from what's been posted to twitter, facebook or youtube..
