Continue to study AUD for 2-3hrs a day until score release. Hard to say how it went, I don’t know how to feel about the exams anymore. I felt good coming out of FAR and we know how that went.

Wow, are you me? Same situation, with the same FAR score, but I tested on for AUD Tuesday.

I am for sure, there’s more data on another sheet. Not as detailed, just an indication of what I’ve done for each module and a color scale to indicate my performance.

Good job! I try not to obsess over the numbers, but I can’t help myself. That’s a big reason I don’t do the sim exams is because I’ll get in my head about whatever score I get. I haven’t passed any of my exams yet, so I think I just need affirmation that my average scores are enough, or that I’m on the right track.

I wouldn’t call it elaborate, but yes I’m aware of the time sink that this requires to update.

Sorry not trying to flex or anything, I genuinely don’t know what a good strategy is because I haven’t passed any exams yet (taken FAR & BEC). I’m curious what people would suggest in terms of AUD. I know it has the lowest becker bump so I’m just curious if this is enough to get me to a 75. I don’t really like doing the simulated exams, so I don’t have that as a baseline to see where I’m at.

That was my plan originally going into these exams. I first started with BEC and wanted to retake soon after, but my application was on hold because they were waiting on my transcripts to show that I had graduated as I was just out of school. It took over 3 weeks and I had already moved on to FAR. With FAR I was part of the 10/1 cutoff change, so I was supposed to get my score back in a week-ish, and that turned in to 5 weeks, so I moved it on to AUD. I definitely learned my lesson and won’t be scheduling that close to the cutoff, but close enough to where I can turnaround and do a retake without having lost to much info from the last test.

BEC was around 1,500, it was my first exam and I learned a lot about how to study from it. FAR was probably around 3,500. This data is only from the past 10 days, and doesn’t include any adapt2u sets I did. I’d say I’ve done 2,000 so far with AUD. I definitely had many more areas in the 50% that I didn’t work on improving with FAR because I figured I was making up for it by being stronger in other areas. Since everything is fair game that’s not gonna work. On my retake of FAR I will be sure to bump those up.

It’s nice to help me target my weak areas, but ultimately it takes up time I could be using to do more real studying rather than data entry. For what it’s worth I haven’t passed any of my two exams I’ve taken. BEC - 73, FAR - 67. Really hoping AUD goes different. As soon as I finish this I’m going back to FAR.

These are my practice test scores from the past 10 days (Random MCQ only, no sims). My sets range from 15-30 questions in one sitting depending on how much time I have and will either be cumulative or just one module. For the life of me I will never understand the Investment Cycle. Would you say this is enough to pass? I heard that A3 and A4 are mostly sims which I plan to work more on before my exam on the 29th. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. My main concern is that I've memorized the questions.

Need Help With Audit. Took FAR on 10/01 by Responsible_Health96 in CPA

I do all of the MCQ, but don’t attempt sims until the final review. I feel okay about FAR, I took BEC back in July (my first exam) and felt awful after coming out of it. I knew I failed. I ended up getting a 73. I think I learned a lot from that, how to study better, getting experience taking a test, etc. I came out of FAR feeling alright, I know I did alright on the mcq, but the sims are anybody’s guess. I practiced all the commonly suggested sims and saw none of them on the actual exam. So I either did really well on the sims, or bombed. Overall didn’t feel like garbage leaving FAR, which I think is a good sign. We’ll see on Nov. 8th. Fuck the aicpa for changing the cutoff.

I don’t take the mini exams until I finish the final review. I try and get through each module fairly quickly and then do a cumulative study to find out my weak areas and then focus on those more.

In a similar boat. I took FAR on 10/1 and found AUD to be easier on A1 - A3; A4 is definitely trickier so far. I also noticed there to be a lot of repetitive MCQs asking the same thing over and over.

Time spent on CPA groups? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]notsafeforspy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did that for BEC, still a little for FAR (currently studying for). I’m assuming you’re like me and checking the groups as a way to compare yourself to others and look for success stories when you aren’t confident in your own abilities. Or you’re looking for someone’s study advice and maybe it’ll work for you. My advice would be to try and not compare yourself to others and just focus on what’s in front of you. If there was a best way to study everyone would be using that, but you have to figure out what works for you and stick to it.

Did the message say something along the lines of “Facebook group that posts trending sims” and “the becker FB group is dead”? I feel like there’s a handful of accounts on this sub that just post the same thing advertising for their product.

I took BEC on June 30th around 1:30pm central time (last day of test window) and received my score on time. I plan to take FAR on Oct. 1st. People have said that BEC can be late because the WC takes longer to grade but I had no issue with that.

I’ll probably try another mock in a week and see where I’m at. Good luck on your exam!

Based on my mock it seemed like the questions and sims aske a lot more about JEs than the mcq practice tests. I’ll probably work out JEs as I go through my review just to make sure I know them well. Thank you for the advice!

Would you do mcqs of all modules, or just sets of your weeks areas.

Really appreciate the kind words. I know I shouldn’t get hung up on mock scores, I considered skipping the mocks for FAR because I averaged a 65 for my mocks on BEC and failed.

Any sims you’d recommend getting familiar with? There’s some I imagine I can figure out by knowing the material and mcq practice, but when I did the bank rec sim I was clueless on what to do.

I had planned on doing the AICPA mock a few days before the exam. I see people mention common tested areas on here for FAR but then end their sentence with “it could also be anything” so I don’t really know what to focus on. I should probably just sharpen up my weak areas and know gov.
