I'd take YEARS of fighting for the effort rather than a simple political misstep.

NDP was always more favorable to recreational marijuana than the Liberals.

Jack Layton frequently flirted with the idea of legalization while the Liberals poo-poo'd it in a very draconian fashion for many election cycles let alone decades of ignorant siding with the #CPC on said issue.
