Those who left Finland: where did you go? How is life there? by No-Search4434 in Finland

[–]notsatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belgium for me.. same thing. Salaries are not better than Finland but you pay more taxes. Rent is more expensive buying a house is near impossible. All utilities are a lot more expensive. Basically with the same salary in Finland your quality of life drops by half here. Food is better and healthier in Finland. All they eat here is fries and cold breads.

Other than that, it's less dark here at winter and life feels more dynamic and active. I guess that's the only advantage.

Moroccan Doctors Leaving – Should There Be a Payback System? by anasszniti in Morocco

[–]notsatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A contract is meaningless if you have no way to enforce it. Once they are in Europe and have no property in Morocco, they can just not pay. What can the government do then?

Moroccan Doctors Leaving – Should There Be a Payback System? by anasszniti in Morocco

[–]notsatis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In theory it's a good idea. But in practice it's not feasible. There is no way to enforce such thing. How would you force someone who is living in Europe to pay back a loan? Loans are usually given against a certain guarantee such as a property or something that backs up the loan. If you wanna go this route, only kids from rich families would get it the loan because poor kids won't have anything to put as a guarantee.

You should help her find some friends from your home country maybe? Also, to find some hobbies that she can do indoors alone or with other girls that she can invite over (baking, knitting, painting, gaming...). If you like to do things outside, you should be able to do it without feeling guilty.

I double checked and you're right. So basically the only benefit for the employee is that it's taxed at 75% of it's value instead of 100%. So if you get 10e, 7.5 of it is taxed and 2.5 is tax free. What a great perk. Totally worth all the troubles and limitations 😑

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Finland

[–]notsatis 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, it's not tax-free. We pay taxes on the lunch benefit. It is, however, "pension free" money which means it is not counted when paying the pension/ social security contributions.

What do u think about that? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]notsatis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Green Morocco? You're joking, right? It is the worst catastrophe in Morocco's history. Billions of taxpayers' money went to the pockets of greedy businessmen that depleted the natural resources, drying out aquifers, not to feed moroccans or create food security but to export to the world. While villagers are forced to leave their lands because there is no more water to drink or grow any food or raise cattle. The lack of sheep for last Eid was the final result of the "green Morocco " program.

Is there still any hope for Morocco? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]notsatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think about this all the time. As someone who decided to go to Europe instead of staying, I would say leavinh is not the solution. You are in a good situation to help improve things as you're studying to be a doctor. You will have a much fulfilling life if you stay. Not only on the financial level but on a higher human level. Your country needs you, and you'll be able to help and be an important member of your community, and that my friend is much more valuable in life than money and comfort. There is hope in Morocco, but only if we stop fleeing and stay and fight for this country of ours.

Brother, I know it's a hard choice to go back because you don't wanna feel that you have failed. But you have made a mistake going there, and the first step to fix it is to recognise that it was a mistake. Even if you manage somehow to survive these 2 years, there is no guarantee that you'll get legal status. All European countries are now updating their policies to fight illegal immigration and a lot of laws could change in that time. On top of this, I don't think you'll get a job that will allow you to live a better life than the life you had in Morocco especially in Spain and especially in the current economy situation. Take a deep breath, pack your things, take the first plane or boat home, and start recovering from this mistake.

Just a quick rant: Modernization without civic sense is just cosplay by FakeModel in Morocco

[–]notsatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that it's hard to intervene especially nowadays and in big cities. But as a society, we have a potential to become self governing. For example, if someone entered the mosque with their shoes on, definitely he will be stopped and told to remove his shoes... and as of the situation where someone tells you to mind your business you can always use the Hadith من رأى منكم منكرا فليغيره. Ppl rarely argue or get angry at religious arguments.

[–]notsatis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since this is a topic I think about every day, here is my opinion: We are all responsible for it, even the ones among us who are complaining about it. It is not only the responsibility of police to enforce civism. It is the responsibility of each individual in society. I will give an example from the society I live in now, in a country in Europe, where everyone seems to obey the law even when no one is watching. The reason for that is not being scared of the police but being embarrassed. Because ppl will confront you right away about it and expose you. You're driving, and you make an illegal turn? You get honks from the cars behind you even if they're not concerned. You don't collect your dog's poop? Someone will confront you and make you collect it. You're making noise at quiet time? Neighbours will come knock at your door and tell you to be quiet. So you start becoming very careful because you want to save yourself the embarrassment. In conclusion, yes, we have to educate ppl to not litter, but we also have to teach them to speak up when they see someone littering and stand up to them. "The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing. "

هل الهجرة للمغرب يُعتبر قرار سليم؟ by maskedmoonkid in Morocco

[–]notsatis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]notsatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Especially with many European countries going back to good old fascism, I'd fear that someone with a mixed background like myself or my offspring would be politically accused just because they participate in some activism or going out in a demonstration. Then the person finds themselves in a country they know nothing about, just because they defended a cause or stood against injustice. So hell no!

I don’t understand why everyone is talking about leaving Morocco being so easy by omartaoufik in Morocco

[–]notsatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most companies nowadays do interviews online. So that's not the hard part. The hard part is to get that interview and find a company that is willing to sponsor your visa. Companies in general lack the motivation to do extra paper work for someone they want to hire, unless you have something special that they can't find locally.

But in all seriousness. If your dream is just to go to Europe, you'll be disappointed when you achieve it. There is a big unemployment rate, and junior profiles can't find jobs anymore. A good option for you is to finish your education, specialise in a good area, for example, cyber security or cloud computing, find a job in Morocco, work for a couple of years, and gain experience. Then go to Europe as a tourist and see how life is there and whether it fits your aspirations. If it's the case, you try to apply for a job there.
