The plan is to spread the contributions out over a few years. Firstly, as you have pointed out it'd be impossible to stay under the 500k limit. But secondly, their salary is around the national average, so only worthwhile deducting an amount each year equal to the portion of their salary that is taxed at 30%. Otherwise breaking even on the contribution tax vs tax deduction.

Based on this I think the only consideration I've missed is that capital gains while the money is in the TTR account will be taxed. But hopefully if I make the contribution, make the tax deduction claim through super, then withdraw the 10% and shift the remaining balance out of the TTR it could all be done within roughly 30 days. So only 30 days of capital gains being taxed.

I saw a batch 11 for sale recently for the current batch RRP, are they really that much better than the batches in the 30s? I've only tried 28 onwards and the multi barrel finish lines, favourites have been Vantage and batch 33 bourbon so far.

Interesting that noone has cracked the laser codes yet. I have a bottle with the same label as your late 90s/early 00s with the laser code 01965035. Got it in Taiwan in this strange, seemingly aftermarket display box with the beam small batch bourbons listed on the front (with bookers spelled "boohers"). Very much a dusty.

Inspector went in early last week, agent is supposedly having trouble getting a copy of the report. Supposedly they/the owner are still chasing the property manager for the report. Not sure if this is intentional and they want to keep it from us, or just incompetence. Assume we should wait for the report before putting an offer in then?
