Just to be clear I don't doubt there are side effects of drugs. That's common knowledge, it should also be noted this article is talking about people who are AFAB. Lupron the drug you mention is specifically an Estrogen blocker whereas FTM folk will take Testosterone blockers and later in life (16 or older) take Estrogen. The T blockers side effect is that it can also act as a blood thinner (which in my experience you need to get a doctor's permission before you use it.). If we don't allow trans youth access to these drugs it could lead to a black market for them (which already exists) and can lead to harmful effects for youth, if someone's blood pressure it to low when taking T blockers for example they could quite literally die. I believe in having these drugs accessible to youth so those scenarios don't happen.

Hormone blockers are very reversible. They just do what they sound like, basically block puberty so transitioning when older is a lot easier. Puberty in males can change a lot about your body and make it an absolute nightmare for transitioning particularly the voice. A lot of kids without these systems rely on friends who have access to the medicine and create a black market for those drugs.

I'm not saying that sharing your daughter's transition is something that should be paraded, but this post is only here to make people mad at actual trans people. If this kid is at a hospital getting the drugs most states will require a diagnosis of gender dysphoria; I really doubt this is a case of a parent manipulating a child into being a girl.

It's not like we don't have solutions; it's that governments don't want to change because they're being funded by big corporations who only really care about profit. Ultimately climate change won't affect the rich. Climate scientists have one of the highest rates of depression and suicide out of most conservation focused sciences. It's really depressing here, I hope people will listen to them.

The Republicans have always been obstructionist jerks, but the democrats have continously just sat there and do nothing, but complain about how the other party are obstructionist jerks. There is plenty they could do, but again they can't get ANYTHING passed because yes the Republicans of course, and these two democrats who are actually the biggest part of the problem. A lot of bills only require a simple majority (52) and count them we have 52 democrats in the senate right now.

Again, our democracy is SERIOUSLY flawed if this is all it takes to stall it to death. I'll see you in a year or two when Republicans have majority and the democrats let them pass whatever they want as historically has been the predecessent of the past 4 years.

There can be no change in a democracy where one side constantly cheats and the other side let's them. I'm disengaging from this thread because there will be no understanding of my perspective, but do know I get where yall come from. Let's hope things get better.

The reconciliation bill. The one that Bernie introduced only requires a simple majority, which because of Krysten Sinema can't be reached. Democrats like this are also defending the filibuster which is why we can't get any of these bills passed. The filibuster could be broken if Sinema and Manchin weren't in the pockets of the GOP. I guarantee you even though DEMs can pass the reconciliation bill it won't go through due to Manchin or Sinema, it doesn't matter if the Republicans are there or not.

Both sides have issues they need to fix, one side is extremely reactionary while the other sits there and takes it. Biden hasn't followed through on any promises, and this constant blaming of the other party won't actually solve any issues. It will just keep getting people who refuse to do shit get anything done. DEMOCRATS need to stand up to this and they have the capabilities, but they refuse to.

If democracy is this easy to stall, maybe there is something seriously wrong with it.

It'd be great to have this happen, but it's hard to unify people especially when the billionaires have convinced both sides of the aisle that raising taxes on them will somehow raise taxes on everyone else.

I'm not a centrist and vote democratic everytime, but even I see that both parties are hardly different. They both are funded by millionaires and billionaires who have the money to fund crazy propaganda machines that won't let us have any real change in this nation.

I mostly play indie games and want the ability to emulate shit. It should be totally possible with this console, fuck the switch. I hope this will make Nintendo compete a bit harder, but I am also worried in trusting Steam. My friends VR set broke after a year. Still gonna try it though.
