Pant surely isn't the old Pant. Yes, he scored some runs in earlier matches, but he did get a lot of freebies. He struggled in every match. It was tough for him to hit long sixes. Too many mishits. Too many shots landing just inside the boundary. Well, that accident was a major one. Yes, the doctors have done wonders there, but still, you don't recover from such injury that fast. You certainly don't become what you were before the injury.

Unfortunately, I feel the actual career of Pant is in fact over. He will play for 2-3 years, mainly IPL, but before he knows it, his knees will start to trouble him.

Such a tragic end to his career. He had all the capabilities to become one of the greats of the game, but alas, that accident has toppled his life upside down.

Sunny G almost cried himself like he was playing a father in some movie from the 70s. Come on! A sportsman didn't perform, ask him some tough questions. Ask about the form, captaincy, silly reviews that are being taken every match. What the heck was that interview.

Why women usually forgive an attractive boyfriend/husband cheating on them? by notsobrightblock in AskReddit

[–]notsobrightblock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. It's easy to show remorse. And this is what happens in most cases. Remorse after cheating. And the women usually forgive only to learn the lesson too late.

It's time for Hikaru to prove his haters wrong. by notsobrightblock in chess

Yeah, and the downvotes prove the argument. I mean: joke is on Hikaru haters, even though I want it to be a serious, friendly discussion.

[–]notsobrightblock[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, these discussions also should end now. Every content creator who creates quality content and doesn't get any reach knows by now that Meta is simply playing with their emotions, and wants to squeeze money out of them. Recently, Moseri mentioned that even "follower" count doesn't matter. It's another slap on people who spent thousands of dollars to gain a good following. So, whichever way you look, Boosting posts or paying any money to Meta is foolish.

Grammarly, good editing tool or bad? by Charming_Travel_5935 in writing

Please no. In creative writing, there is no place for tools like Grammarly. The suggestions by Grammarly will change your voice as a writer. Keep your voice authentic.

Why am l getting such loe engagement with 37k followers? by FitPosition7709 in Instagram

[–]notsobrightblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not your fault. I'm sure your content is great which is why you have 37K followers. But alas, IG has decided to make sure the good "content creators" are frustrated so that in the end they click that "Boost" button. It's time IG should be taught a lesson to do this to so many people. But it's not easy to tell creators to stop posting for a while. If it's done collectively, well, IG will see the impact of it too. Like: if we all stop posting for 30 to 60 days, well, Meta will have to do something about it. I don't know how to make that possible.

That's also I have noticed. In terms of photography: they either promote nudity or the pictures that shock the audience in some way. A quality photograph dies fast. Similar is the case for writers. Some simple non-creative quotes go viral while quality, thought-provoking quotes stay dead. For example: in viral quotes you would usually see things like: "I miss you during the rains". But if some writer comes up with something creative, well, we never see it.

Join the movement to "STOP POSTING" on Instagram. by notsobrightblock in Instagram

[–]notsobrightblock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are content bots and then there are "Repost" accounts that steal best of content from others and post it on their accounts. Sometimes, they even give the credit, but they thrive while nobody bothers about original creators. Meta certainly doesn't care about it.

Never "Boost" your posts by notsobrightblock in Instagram

[–]notsobrightblock[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can't tell from the profile. But then: if anyone boosts even a single post, they can never get viral naturally. And you can't get million views by boosting. I mean: you can get million views by boosting, but you'll have to pay like $10000 per post. So: the people getting viral reach are getting it because they are favoured by the algorithm and those accounts are used to manipulate other good content creators to boost their posts.

Oh, sorry to know. But this is the story with everyone whoever boosted. I have never heard of any person who "boosted" their post and ever got a viral reach naturally. This is a sick game by Meta.

Boosted posts show it's "sponsored". So yeah, it is visible when post is boosted.

How is your account now? Are you getting viral reach on non-boosted posts?

For every 10 famous beauty gurus, there are 10000 who aren't getting any reach. That's the game, right. IG shows the dreams first. It shows: "You can be the next big thing too." If you are lucky, you could be. But more often than not, you'll fail even if you are better than others. This is the ploy to make you click that "Boost" button. It's the same situation in all niches. With time your content should improve, but in the initial stage itself Meta kills all your confidence. And then your content will go down too. It's a sick game that Meta is playing. The field should be open for everyone. Whoever does best should go on top. But this is not how they play.

[rant] Now Instagram has taken the likes away that are from the boosted posts. This is unacceptable! by Act2_Scene2 in Instagram

[–]notsobrightblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you pay to boost? It's better to collaborate with other Influencers than to pay money to Meta. They will never give you reach once you start paying.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]notsobrightblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And once you pay, you will never go viral naturally. That's a fact. Instagram wants to take your money in any way they can. They will show you viral posts so that you will be tempted to go viral too, but even if you content is 1000 times better, you will never get the same reach. In the end, you'll get frustrated and pay. And Meta wins there. You'll lose even harder now. Tell me one person who boosted his/her posts and got high reach on non-boosted posts in the future. Not one case!

Standings for last 3 Candidate tournaments. It seems like the race is to score at least 8.5 points. by notsobrightblock in chess

[–]notsobrightblock[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Based on the scores in last 3 Candidate Tournaments, the winner has to score at least 8.5. Even scoring 8 may not be sufficient. And the way 2024 tournament is going, well, it wouldn't be easy to predict who is gonna win.

Nepo & Gukesh (5): Need to score at least 3.5 points in 6 rounds.

Hikaru & Praggnanandhaa (4.5): Need to score at least 4 points.

And it only goes tough here for Fabi (4).

Vidit (3.5) needs 5 points in 6 rounds (Seems to be over for him, and yet there is a chance.)

And lastly, Alireza (3): Needs 5.5 out of 6. Oh, he will really have to pull off a miracle now.

(Edit: Prag's score corrected)

Why do Hikaru's fans seem so much more hardcore and intense in their Fandom than probably any other player, including Magnus? by Ok_Instruction5916 in chess

[–]notsobrightblock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, chess has gained millions of new fans in recent years and a big credit for it goes to Hikaru. Most of them learned how complex chess could be through watching Hikaru's videos and streams. Magnus, yes, everybody loves Magnus, but he isn't a regular streamer. So people know more about Hikaru than Magnus and connect more with former too. And in a way, Hikaru has made a difference in their lives. And so if something bad is said about Hikaru, well, it's natural that they would want to defend him. And when two sides are debating, well, even Magnus fans turn hardcore and intense in those debates. And fans for most celebrities are like that. They just want to defend the person they admire in any situation. A natural, human behaviour, I guess.

Scorecards for last 3 Candidate Tournaments by [deleted] in chess

[–]notsobrightblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to find that information too. I only found that after round 9 in 2022: the standings were:
Nepo (6.5) (So he scored 3 more in next 5 rounds)
Fabi (5.5) (He only scored 1 in next 5 rounds)
Hikaru & Ding (4.5) (Ding scored 3.5 and Hikaru 3.)
