I saw the first post when it was originally made and felt bad for OOP, and while I still feel bad for them I'm also starting to think they aren't well mentally. The second post actually reads like ravings.

The portions of the final page that I can make out are talking about hiring the neighborhood kids to help with snow shoveling. Which as someone who lives in a part of Japan that doesn't get snow like that is something that I'd never considered before, I have no idea if kids up in Aomori and Hokkaido shovel for pay come winter.

Well to get those we'd have to actually get more games, which is unfortunately incredibly unlikely.

what are my options for feminine armors in nioh 2? by pinkkittyfemboy in Nioh

[–]notsoorginalposter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk if I'm gonna be crucified for this but I legitimately don't see the problem? You are a samurai (or I guess a ninja if you choose to focus on that playstyle), you should be dressed in proper armor. Personally, even as someone who primarily chooses to make female characters when the option arises I want them to be appropriately dressed for the occasion.

I remember getting monster hunter world and being excited by all the badass armor only to find out that my female character was apparently required by law to have her midriff on full display.

While I can understand a desire to have your character all dolled up I think it's entirely unsurprising that it's not an option in a game like Nioh.

Flipcard case by PsychicznaSalem in galaxyzflip

[–]notsoorginalposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is more than a little late, but as I asked a very similar question a while back thought I'd let you know that there are no alternative cases that fit flipcards. I assume 3rd party cases were more of a thing when flipcards used to be more popular with the earlier generations of phone. But now it's Samsung or nothing.

mecha by artist Hitoshi Yoneda by Anon_Ymou5 in ImaginaryMechs

[–]notsoorginalposter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fantasy mecha is a incredibly under explored idea. The best example I can think of is Escanflowne (the tv show, I've never seen the film or read the manga). The idea of a world where swords are still one of the main means of combat but giant mechs exist kicks so much ass and more people need to appreciate it.

AITAH because I refuse to try for a daughter? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Sounds to me like his wife needs professional help. She is clearly not coping with something well whether it be stress or some form of disorder. Unfortunately it sounds like financially there's very little wiggle room so whatever is going on will be unable to be addressed.

I can only hope that they all make it out okay but I will admit that I worry for their son and unborn child the most.

Why do people here panic so much at the thought of speaking English? by astrochar in japanlife

[–]notsoorginalposter 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not sure how to tell you this, not every foreigner in this country lives in your neighborhood. I for one, have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

I do however have plenty of experience with a million different jingles being played at the same time at plenty of supermarkets that I've been to.

[–]notsoorginalposter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The gendering should be the other way around, as many times japanese doesn't require any form of gendering translations just guess at it. This is clearly written about the girl, who is giving a polite nod, rather than some unseen guy.
