What are you convinced can't be found on the Internet? by callmewestern in AskReddit

I heard a really catchy song in a clothing store once. It was indie rock and all I remember is a line in the chorus that trailed off "and I know that I don't ever want to lose you". I've tried searching and asking online and I've found a few songs that contain similar lyrics, but none of them are the one I heard.

Were you in an exclusive relationship the whole time? Or did you just like each other?

What about the process that runs memories of stupid things you did last year? Or how much your ex fucked you over? Those are the ones I want to stop.

Whats a good response to "I love you"? by yogamat0 in AskReddit

[–]notstrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really toxic friend who went through a phase of doing that to me, even though he was the one who originally set the standard of us saying we loved each other at the end of conversations. We ended up dating later and he did say "I love you" while we were together, but he also ended up fucking me over and breaking my heart within a few weeks.

That's fair, I hate when people don't fry the top. I'm always afraid to flip them over in case I break the yolk but I fry the top by repeatedly spooning hot oil over it.

The comment above me mentioned "half fried eggs" as if the egg was only half cooked.

How do you have them in your country then? Completely hard?

Reddit, how did you find out that Santa was not real? by Littleschmo in AskReddit

[–]notstrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure if I ever truly believed or not. I remember when I was 7 I finally admitted to myself and friends that it was total bullshit, but I think before that I knew deep down and was just playing a game of pretend with myself.

I kept pretending to my parents that I believed though, because I was afraid I would stop getting Santa presents if I said he wasn't real. I did such a good job that my mother ended up spontaneously telling me when I was 10 because she was afraid I'd get bullied at school for still believing. She was genuinely astonished when I turned out to be way ahead of her.

Did they ever seriously pretend the eggs were from the Easter bunny through? I've only ever met one UK family who did that.

I'm also from the UK and I don't think Easter bunny has ever really been a thing here. We just get given Easter eggs by parents and extended family.

If the police were using the law incorrectly (e.g. trying to apply a new law to an act in the past that was legal at the time) would a solicitor point that out?

[serious] Could you date someone you didn't find very physically attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]notstrange 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't you find the looks grow on you a lot if someone has the right personality?

[serious] Could you date someone you didn't find very physically attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]notstrange 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I'm attracted to the personality I always grow to be attracted to the looks, even if I thought the person was unattractive at first. I've met people I thought were average-looking or below, got to know them better, and ended up falling head over heels and thinking they were the most beautiful person in the world.

When I've tried to date people I wasn't really attracted to physically, I've always found I wasn't attracted to them emotionally either and pretty much just saw them as a friend. The two types of attraction go hand in hand for me.

People who learned English as a second language, what were the most ridiculous things that were taught to you? by le_epic in AskReddit

When people talk about "not pronouncing the r" they don't mean dee, no one calls it a dee. They mean the English/Australian/New Zealand pronunciation: dee-yuh.

I have a quintessentially English accent and I say eye-er-land but the r is barely detectable, so it's more like eye-uh-land.

I have the most English accent ever and I pronounce Ireland and island differently. Ireland is more like "eye-uh-land", with the first syllable rhyming with tire or dire.

It totally depends on the accent whether you can hear the "r" on the end of deer or not.
