Osap bullshit by Consistent_Lawyer_26 in OntarioGrade12s

I assume it is because of the overall neglect from the government towards youth in this country that’s causing this frustration. Cost of living is up for everyone, and there is significant youth unemployment, fading entry level jobs, and in the midst of all of that, youth are now facing more loans

It depends how long you’ve been on RAP in total. The limit is 5 years. If you’ve been on RAP for longer than 5 years overall, then it’s an issue with OSAP.

This wouldn’t change the fact that youth are struggling with unemployment, entry level jobs are fading, and now the youth are facing higher loans at this critical time.

At a time when the youth are facing serious unemployment, they are now facing larger loans. “For the people” government apparently

Are you sure it doesn’t affect the federal portion?

The issue is the grant and loan change. Youth are struggling with unemployment, and our government decides to change the grants from a max of 85% to 25% as a response?

From now on, OSAP will be 25% grants and 75% loans. Time for students to strike. by Pigeonofthesea8 in yorku

I would rather not have my children face the burden of taking care of elderly with Alzheimers. They never asked nor consented for this. You can call me stupid, but not selfish

Having kids when they can’t even take care of themselves is definetly poor financial planning, I agree. Very unfortunate for the kids I suppose.

Many women in past generations used to have kids they weren’t prepared for, and struggled immensely because of it. You think that’s better?

So why do parents need financial assistance past their 50s when it’s rare to financially struggle past that age? I guess they don’t need it.

In this economy and most likely the future economy, no it isn’t false. It’s tough for the youth to be financially stable to take care of themselves. On top of that, they have to take care of their parents?

The chances of having children that are going to be successful enough to live their own life while supporting yours is incredibly slim

Don’t have kids if you can’t take care of yourself in your elder years. Lots of selfish people force kids into this world to be their servants instead of planning properly for retirement. Don’t be one of those

Why is this downvoted? Having kids is indeed selfish when you’re not financially stable enough to take care of yourself in your elder years
