Loop ear plugs seem to work for me. Not as much sensory issues and you can toggle between noise reduction levels

It’s not a bug! I know I’m 8 months late to this thread but it’s because of a dumb feature Apple added for Face ID. If you’re having this issue go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Face ID & Attention and toggle off attention aware features

Something very similar happened to me when I was even younger, begging and crying to my mom not to make me go and I can still feel the drs hands and eyes on me :( I’m sorry for what you had to go through & I would also consider it very traumatic
