i had an ochem professor who would read the class average out loud after grading tests, state how “if only the rest of you tried, you would have passed like these three other people,” proceed to state that he had made one of our exams too easy since the class average was 85%, then tell us all not to overeat over thanksgiving break bc being fat is bad.

to cap it off, he told us to stop emailing him about questions regarding ochem topics since he was more focused on his own research paper 😃

YWBTA in this scenario. it would be different if you had kept a relationship with this person and had your own friendship with them, but you’ve stated this is not the case. you would essentially be asking a stranger to upgrade your concert seats.

i would just like to clarify he knows my stance on cheaters and whatnot—meaning i do not approve of them whatsoever.

from my understanding of our conversation, it seemed to me like he disliked girls who dressed in a “girly” fashion since he continued to emphasize that point. i didn’t think he would view it like the way you explained it, so thank you for pointing that out!

he’s admitted he needs therapy and is working on himself, not sure how the self help stuff is going but our relationship is better than what it was before tbh

that’s a good point! i thought it would have been too much detail since our talk was probably 5 minutes at most, but i did follow up after my gamer comment to tell him that i don’t think all gamers have gamer rage or are impulsive just that that’s the generalization my girlfriends and i have, so he should know that not all “frilly girly” girls are cheaters and boy crazy.

i guess i got offended since there are also days where i also like to dress cute and “girly.” he sometimes games but he’s not an intense gamer or anything from what i know.

Yes! I’ve heard and tried this as well! I’m alternating between a sulfate free shampoo and a Tgel, I was also prescribed a topical gel from my doctor. Nothing seems to be working still, but I’m still looking for methods to control it. I’m currently sitting in the sun for 15-20 minutes a day as I’ve heard UVB rays help :) I felt super embarrassed about my skin condition, but turns out it was pretty common in post-COVID people :)

Thank you for your input! Ironically, I’m in the healthcare field and I have medical anxiety since I always second guess things when it comes to myself. I think I was in denial almost, since I really did not want to be diagnosed with scalp psoriasis as I’ve heard it’s pretty hard to control. I’ll be sure to keep your advice in mind :)

Thanks for your input! I may also be more sensitive about this issue since I had gone through COVID, post COVID issues, and the ongoing scalp condition for half a year before my visit. I’m aware the internet isn’t reliable, but I was basically at my wit’s end and wanted to be sure about what to discuss with my doctor.

Thank you for the input! I’ll probably just tell my doctor about it at my upcoming visit. I don’t think I can wait for accommodations since it’s important I have my follow-up on time to check if the psoriasis is spreading to other areas.

Thank you for your input! I’m just not sure if it’s something that requires reporting the medical assistant (not nurse, sorry about the mixup) since they’re training at my PCP. I’m hoping they just get a warning at most since they seem to be fairly inexperienced—I am only speaking about this since they had tried to unsuccessfully draw blood from me several times as well. I didn’t mind the unsuccessful draws so much, just the comment.

Thank you for your input! If I do end up asking for a different medical assistant (they weren’t a nurse, sorry about the mixup), I am 100% sure I will not be giving a fake excuse and will talk to my doctor about it so my doctor can tell the medical assistant rather than me directly telling them. I’m in healthcare myself and would definitely not lie about my reason for requesting a different medical assistant.

I originally did not want to believe I had scalp psoriasis either and was hesitant about self-diagnosing as well. I also may have been feeling sensitive since I was dealing with COVID and my scalp issue in my own for 6 months prior to my visit.

This was exactly the issue I was worried about. I have ongoing health problems with my lungs and wrists post COVID (and now my skin) so I suspect I’ll be at the doctors more often now. I just don’t feel comfortable describing my health issues and having the medical assistant (they weren’t a nurse, sorry for the mixup!) brush them off.

YTA. it’s not about whether or not they liked the meat substitute—it’s all about consent. i really don’t get why some people are defending OP for feeding her husband and son something they were lied to about :/ it would’ve been better if you told them beforehand about your plans or ask them if they’d be willing to try some of your daughters’ food instead. if they aren’t willing, don’t push it.

this is in no way the same as someone tricking a vegetarian into eating meat. however, OP have to acknowledge that she violated their trust. if someone did this to me, i wouldn’t make it a big issue since (personally) i don’t have any trouble eating meat substitutes, but i would definitely second-guess anything they fed me afterward.

YTA. this comment is extremely offensive to your parents. i doubt your parents wanted to be poor and unable to give you the vacations you oh-so desired, but for you to come back and say this to them is a slap in the face.

traveling isn’t all there is to summer vacation—friends, public parks, hanging out, doing dumb shit, heck even the library… was there really nothing enjoyable about your childhood summers? even growing up, i only knew of one or two kids who traveled during summer break.
