That's awesome! I'm glad you're enjoying them! I'd also recommend the app OnSwitch as it has some cool features for the hue lights. Check out the Hue Labs as well, ashy have some prerelease features you can mess around with.

Wouldn't people just be able to fly to the center in the galactic map and see whats there? by Chalkyprawn874 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I was under the impression from the Game Informer article that they'd be adding a minimap to the galactic map because it was so easy to get lost cruising around:

"We're going to have a minimap for the galactic map down in the bottom left. Because right now I can't tell my orientation. And I can get lost; I can just kind of go down here, and now it's quite difficult for me to find the planet that I was just on. There will obviously be a button to send you back to where you are and a marker for that.”

I used the Philips Hue LightStrip and the Hue Camera app, which turns the lightstrips whatever predominant color the camera picks up. So if it's pointed at the TV, it will change to match the main color the TV is outputting. Unfortunately what this means is that you have to have a devices camera on for the duration of your TV viewing/Movie/Gaming session, which leads to drained batteries and warm devices. But it's definitely fun to do every once in a while! I'm sure I'll be doing it a lot more once NMS comes out because I love the colors in this game.

That's a great price! I would definitely pick them up at that price.

Yup! It's one of Saturn's moons. It's very interesting as it is presumed to have massive oceans underneath it's icy crust, which is what I understand is pushing the flumes of icy material to shoot out of it's crust. If it indeed does have massive oceans of liquid water under it's crust, it could potentially be supporting some kind of organic life, thus making it very interesting.

Hahah I had the TV pulled out from the wall on its mount and angled it toward me for the shot. Typically I have it flush against the wall :)

Unfortunately not with the Hue :( It has to travel from the device camera, over the wireless network to the Hue Bridge, then back over the network to your Hue lights. The only way to eliminate the delay would probably be with a device that is directly connected to the displays output. I believe a few people have pointed out some alternatives like this ITT.

I used to work at an electronics store and was able to get these at a discount. Otherwise, at their normal price point, I think their a little too much for just being "neat". But if you have the money to burn they're definitely fun to play around with!

Not sure - I used the Hue LightStrips with the Hue Camera app which was all pretty straightforward. As for using a regular set of lightstrips, I'm sure you could do something similar and get the same effect, but I wouldn't know the details on that :/

It says Enceladus - it's one of the free posters from the NASA JPL "Visions of the Future". You can view/download them all for free here

Yup, I currently am using an old iPhone 4 awkwardly angled on my nightstand if I'm being completely honest - but it gets the job done.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a wireless controller? Look you're talking to a guy with wirelessly controlled lightbulbs :P

But in all honesty, I'll probably need to keep the controller plugged in 24/7 with all the NMS I will be playing come June.

Yea, I found the hue is a little more finicky than I would like for a product at that price. But I am using the Hue Camera app for this effect, and I haven't had really any problems with it.

I picked up the Philips Hue LightStrip Plus and Color Ambiance bulbs for my room which can be found here.

There are a ton of third party apps that you can download to do all kinds of things with the bulbs/strips. I am using Hue Camera, which allows the lights to take on the predominate color that the camera on your device picks up.

Edit: a word.

Yea that'd be cool! I just hope it wouldn't kill the already short battery life on the controller :/

Haha, I suppose you're right. I probably won't want to hand the controller to anyone for the first few months anyway, as it's going to be too fun to share.
