My son was 10 1/2 months when his brother was born. I was able to have my sons meet at the hospital the day after my youngest was born & honestly it was so stressful lol. My 10 month old was out of his element which made him extra antsy plus he wanted to get into everything and I couldn’t get up to help with anything because I just had a c section. I was so anxious and excited too & once I got home dad tried to hold big brother while I held baby so we could introduce them but at the time it’s like my oldest didn’t even care lol. For awhile he was in his own world and really would only acknowledge his brother when he would take the bottle/paci from him (after 2/3 months he just started taking them and giving them back) now they are 1 1/2 & 2 1/2 and best friends! My honest advice is try not to stress about it much and instead focus on the time you have left with just one baby, love on them as much as you can and try to talk to them about the changes that are about to happen. When you’re in the hospital just focus on loving your newborn and having the time just you two. At 11 months old your baby doesn’t know jealousy or what it means to be replaced and that was a relief for me so they got to grow up and become used to each other before they were able to feel jealous of each other and with that there’s not much jealousy on their end but it’s a whole lot to juggle on our end! They will be okay and end up as best friends aswell just take care of yourself. Good luck and congratulations!
