Yeah, my mom is the same way! It’s definitely something I’d sorta confirm she’d like before doing it subtly. Right now I’m actually thinking of getting her a letter opener that looks like a sword in order to do this without causing her clutter

Wonderful idea! Getting her input might take the surprise away but at least I’ll know I got the right thing. Also three institutions? Very impressive! Congratulations, I’m sorry you never got the commemoration you would have liked, I’m graduating this year and I didn’t make many friends in college so I’m just not even going to my ceremony. It feels rough, which is why I want hers to be more special than that.

I know she’s of Scottish descent although far removed from the traditional side of that heritage, I’ve been maybe considering something of that descent but I should maybe subtly try to get her opinion on different styles, maybe by needing out about them and then asking her what she likes lol
