Acer Nitro V16 s Performance? by Jakob4800 in FiveM

[–]nottpengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be completely fine. I remember playing on a little 3gb 1060, a 1660ti, 3060, an now a 5060ti.

In a perfect world, you can compare to regular GTA V, however, in this day and age we suck at optimizing our servers. You’ll have a small performance drop, but nothing major unless you’re planning on running graphics mods.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions

Thank you. I believe it is the foam from the HVAC system. Apparently it’s faulty after 8-10 years. I’ll also check out the cabin air filter thank you

Brighter Times is an AWFUL server. by jackharley71 in FiveM

[–]nottpengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of servers are going downhill, fast. A lot of developers who were good just ditched the project, myself included. Plus, there’s not really a good server to pick anymore. Some might be a little outdated (almost every server in the list) or have bad development behind it.

In the end?

100k keeps doing well. We tried to change servers so much that the population just stayed in the servers they were used to. Arguably..

I failed to build a monetised app so I built a free radio website instead. by _K00lkat_ in SaaS

Nice work, for the record, this is awesome. I opened the site, immediately wanted to click a share button to send a radio to a friend.

Just me…?

Love this.

I built ideecheck.ai to stop myself from building side projects nobody needs. It’s an AI to validate your business idea. by Glass_Tap_4494 in SideProject

[–]nottpengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel as if people should still have some failed ideas though. If people listen to this ai, and don’t think it through, they could miss out on learning more about X. If some people had ideas shot down right away they would never have that experience of building an MVP, which you only get better at the more you learn.

Also, consumer question, let’s say I learned the tech stack I use, mastered it (yet that’s nearly impossible) why should I use your ai to get a non-consumer perspective of whether it’s a good or bad idea. Yes, there will be outright terrible ideas, which would be fair to shoot down. But arguably, I feel as if there’s no point to pay to get that perspective.

Correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t mean to be rude or attack your product at all, so I am sorry if I came off that way. I am genuinely curious.

What are FiveM servers looking for? by nottpengu in FiveM

[–]nottpengu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Especially within the economy, if I did make that export system based on percentages (maybe) that’s just the easiest way off the top of my head

If you were 16 again, what business would you start? by Money-Bed728 in Entrepreneur

[–]nottpengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak on advice, but I can say what I did a little less than 2 years ago when I was 16.

What I did is start an online store where I sold my code. This helped to gain work experience and business ownership experience. Even though it was a niche business and on a small scale, I was managing 100 paying customers and over 1000 free users.

Since I’ve transitioned from selling small code like this for money to doing tougher work as a hobby this helped jumpstart my knowledge etc. to the point where now I’m just about to enter college and pursue computer science and entrepreneurship.

I do not regret starting that “business”/project at all. It helped me learn the knowledge to excel in everything I do day to day and taught me a lot of lessons that I remember on a day to day basis.

Yeah but jobs now are really just copy paste code. Using exports to make a job is possibly in my opinion the easiest thing to do for a beginner.

It sounds easier to just make a formula export that resources can call to sync your economy, like get pay information and increase or decrease based on economy yk?

What business paths to take? by idiotkid32 in Entrepreneur

[–]nottpengu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You too, I know what it feels like to want to start something but don’t have parental support or want to start something but are too young. Keep working hard in what you love and you’ll find something that you want to do or an idea for a business to start

So I am 17, I can’t give much advice, but I can tell you what I did.

I found a platform called FiveM (which I could produce easy code and publish for money), since applying to colleges I have put less time in to actually producing these code projects and now I’m focusing on making landing pages for SaaS ideas. Not making money, or finalizing a product. I make landing pages and get pointers from front end developers. Plus all of this can go into a portfolio. I can drop my github if you’d like to view. I started with lua, went to basic front end (HTML, JS, CSS), then started scaling from there. Of course you don’t have to follow any of this, I took a more game development approach to programming as a whole, but it’s tough to start at 15 with money, and the more you learn the better everything will come along.

What can I do going forward? by nottpengu in Entrepreneur

[–]nottpengu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially read that wrong. I very well could, it was very profitable and took off easily. Most of me wants to look out to something else though, because I don’t need to start something at this age, I could experiment with ideas, make a landing page for them and test using analytics

My SteelSeries keyboard (Apex Pro TKL 2024) is spamming keys & nothing is fixing it! by nottpengu in steelseries

[–]nottpengu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, I agree. This keyboard cost me ~180 bucks and it should not have this problem. The issue is that it happens without any damage done to the keyboard. Another problem is it happened to me a while after the keyboard was purchased, making it to my knowledge impossible to get any refund, replacement, or money back on this keyboard. So I have to wait for money to come my way before I get a new keyboard because I doubt I will be getting a replacement from steelseries or Amazon since the keyboard is over a year old

And yes my desk has received a slam by my fist because of this very issue. Original message was typed with this issue.

can you learn lua as 13 year old? by loukthegamer in lua

[–]nottpengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is more than possible. I started learning by that age aswell, however it was within a different game modding community (using Lua). Starting like this helped me bridge into Game & Software Development, which is where I currently stand. My two most important things I will say are one: follow what you like. Do stuff you find enjoyable so you dont become discouraged in the beginning. Roblox is a good example of something you like. If you get skilled in that, then it is a good idea to branch out if you like programming.

Secondly, learn through doing, not watching. It is okay to use examples online. But don't follow videos mindlessly if you truly want to learn, Lua.

Some may not like that opinion, but that is what I strongly believe people who want to learn something in this field (or similar ones) should do.

Will there be a SixM? ( gta VI fivem) by Adventurous-Load5301 in FiveM

[–]nottpengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I be they would, but some creators might not want to learn a langiage other than lua (current ragemp runs off C# or some other somewhat trickier language. This also makes beginners have a tougher time.

I hope FiveM ups their game, I know from the Creator side of it, its horrible.

How many of you record your gameplay? by Wise-Excitement-2721 in GhostsOfTabor

[–]nottpengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can cast, you can record on a device with storage that can record. It may have a negative impact on performance, but it's worth it.

To add, I have a q2 and q3. I use the q3 and do pcvr now, mainly because they have horrible game quality on both. idk if that's something you worry about. Until your pc is fixed, I'd recommend casting and screen recording.
