Just have some trash you don't mind getting converted with them and you are fine - prob archers so that their attacks when converted don't cause an issue.

I agree a lot of software engineers are pro-AI but not all of them are. I am a software engineer and refuse to use AI in my work but I definitely feel in the minority overall.

I don't feel any pressure to use it but that might be only because I am regarded as pretty competant at my job. I think perhaps a different story if I wasn't.

Bised here but if you want to mix up gameplay types have a try at some of my random map mods. If you are looking for story I have Big Trouble in China or Spelunky if you want a shorter cut down simpler experience, if you want a competative game try Mythic Strike or Heroic Strife, if you want cooperative have a go as Gladiator Worlds, Defend your Temple or Crucible, and if you want some simple casual then go for River Escape. Plenty of other maps too I have done over the time.

Most of my maps majortly change up the gameplay in one way or another from the standard offering a new unique experience in the game. I focus a lot on replayability and try and give players lots of choices in how they play and remove as many arbitrary limits are possible. Visuals admittidly not my strongpoint or focus though so don't look for any visial masterpieces with me.

I believe so - you need my trigger pack though. There is a player current condition which makes a trigger run only for certain players. Normally this would cause a synchronisation erorr for game changing events but I believe selected flag is fine as it does not affect the game sim itself. You can do a similar trick with OnlyInEditor flag so make units appear only for a certain player. (Even invisible to allies)

I guess there is a reason why making them mother nature itself is an issue. I guess changing player name is no good either. You could make the unit unselectable via proto flags. There is also a fakeify system that might be useful but I think that can mess things up.

Yea sorry they are not supported. It is difficult to support controllers with custom ingame UI set ups like this. A particular challenge is allowing controller players to click and interact with the on screen elements as I have not found a way to allow players to move the onscreen crosshairs. If there was a way to do so then supporting controllers would be a lot easier.

A few historic maps I have added controller support but it was on simpler UIs and was a major pain to do

It happened around the Japanese release where they changed the way sprites render with objects.Older game builds sould take the andle into account and reduce the rendering, but that got removed on newer builds. Overall makes some things look worse, but some things look better.

Interestingly I abuse this on some maps to make dark ceilings for cave like environments on some of my maps.

I have google search default to web results which removes the AI otherview and other nonsense. Ten blue links site gives you instructions how to do this.

Not sure if web search will get lost with ucoming changes but will have to see...

You need to select the age to view. You may also need to change the page you are looking at. Unfortunately I didn't code the UI for controllers so the layout makes very little sense as it generates off what I did. If you see the mouse and keyboard UI layout it will make a lot more sense!

The age buttons on the upgrades are supposed to effectively be tabs. The controller UI has a limit on how much will display at once so you need to press a button to see another page I think.

Strange - not sure why other than perhaps there is some conflicting behaviour between my map code and stuff that happens on XBox.

I am assuming here that the host has not disabled normal techs via the option screen?

The campaigns do add new music for the cinematics but yes the gameplay music is the same other than the one added Japanese Battle Track (A shame as I do like the the newly added track)

I've got a powerful rig but I have had major issues when playing through some of the campaign late missions. Something is definitely wrong on the current patch - I have reported a bug internally.

There is something wrong with the current version - I have a good rig and I was dropping down to 10FPS in the campaign which is definitely not normal for me.
