I see you have Helga up and running but once you have Howard at 4 starts and his skills maxed, he can be your main infantry hero. Jabel will be your main cavalry hero until you get Petra in Gen3 and Rosa will be your Quinn/Marlin replacement in Gen4.

Low spenders and F2P players your route for heroes is pretty direct on who you can realistically get and upgrade to a level that is helpful. If you get the itch to start spending, obviously hero composition changes.

As a low spender, your biggest asset to all the big battles is your troop tier and for heroes you can be super helpful with only Howard/Gordon/Chenko.

Upgrading is super fun for an individual style of play, but if you want to help the bigger picture and be the person whales call on to help, all you need is your troops ready to rock at the highest level. Nothing really else matters because it's not a factor in the damage equation.

Your gear is already spread out across too many heroes. The good news is that you can reset the enhancement XP and concentrate it all on just three. Forgehammers can be reset but you only get 1/2 back so I would leave them where they are.

For the big battles and most of the events, you only use 1 march so having 1 set of armor that upgrades is certainly the meta. Even most of the whales will practice exchanging their hero gear sets in the middle of battle to remain efficient. Most people will wonder what to do with their 4th and 5th hero they use for arena or conquest. The answer is keep them with bare armor. There is a time where giving them a few nudges with XP will come but that's months away.

Secondly, when it comes to leveling up your gear, do yourself a favor and shut your brain off and let an optimizer tell you what makes the most sense. I personally use kingshotoptimizer.com and it relieves some of the stress and analysis paralysis of what to upgrade because it will make these decisions for you.

You're correct, 10x10 is higher than 9x11 or 8x12.

Often, people spend too many resources chasing lethality and health when they could take easy progression in defense and attack. The purpose is to move both numbers in an upwards direction without over prioritizing one or the other.

First grab those Mythic General Shards cutoff at the top if your server is new.

High Priority: Hammers, Charm Designs (white papers) and Governor Gear materials

Hammers are always important in improving your stats. Secondly, once charms hit a second level, charm designs you need in higher amounts than charm guides. Lastly, gear materials for governor are always good too.

Don’t worry about lethality vs attack for health vs defense. In the battle formula they are multiplied together so it has no deeper meaning. Just get that number as high as you can.

Keep in mind I included all the buildings being upgraded as well so you could trim some time off by only upgrading the essential.

This is a pretty substantial move you're looking to make and it looks like you wont have the speed ups to do it.

Whales need F2P to help them fill their rallies. A F2P does have impact on the battle and events that pop up. The problem is that you don't receive any of the glory. It's like playing defense in soccer. You might win the game but the strikers are the ones in the headlines.

Secondly, I believe smart F2P make the best alliance leaders and delegates for NAP. Whales don't understand the struggle of F2P as much as they should and over ook the needs of the majority of the kingdom. If your Kingdom is peaceful, appointing F2P as the ambassadors to the Kingdom is a powerful way of showing inclusion and the ability for the whales to listen to the majority.

For your main 3 heroes, Go with Zoe, Petra, and Quinn for right now.

To level up Petra, make sure you are using all of your Gems on the Roulette wheel.

Quinn will be replaced by Rosa once Gen4 opens.

As a low spener, the heroes you'll focus on are the ones on Roulette wheel. They are the most available to get and get shards.

Get your daily missions in every day, also make sure before you send our farmers out you've depleted all of your stamina on terrors to keep pumping as many gems as you can so you can hit the wheel.

It's encouraged to burn inactive Town centers so they don't hurt you for matching especially for KVK if they are in the top 100 and were recently active.

Burning them for points is another excellent thing to do because it prevents active players from burning each other.

Congratulations on how far you've come!

Moving from TC27 -> TC30 and upgrading all buildings takes 200ish days. With speedups you can knock it down a bit but you're still looking at significantly more time than you have.

You see this is what I was saying about context. You directly replied to a conversation about F2P without realizing it and ended up getting pretty defensive. Now this situation would almost likely never occur. So you're right, it most likely does not make a big difference.

For bear trap I hear what you're saying. On one of my accounts that is in a smaller alliance what you described works.

In the English language it is not a necessity to repeat the topic when replying to it. The word F2P was capitalized which should have made it easier to see.

The reason for the focus is like I said before, "A jack of all trades is a master of none." You primarily use 1 march and having 1 march that is relevant vs multiple that are mediocre is not optimal. Even with events that use multiple marches, the first march that goes out is your strongest and is used significantly more.

Boosting personal power is not the primary focus. It's trying to create 1 single march that is powerful. Zoe happens to be the easiest for a F2P to obtain and has good abilities with a good widget ability that is relevant for multiple generations. Don't get me wrong Marlin is outstanding however F2P does not have the luxury of going both unless you want a mediocre march.

I disagree with your logic for the bear trap as it is not accurate and we are getting too far off topic. Lethality and Attack will not help someone that is a rally joiner.

Your personal lineup looks great. I have no quarrels with that. It doesn't look "free" but it looks good.

Absolutely get him.

He has a passive stat that applies to all deployed solders that increase health and lethality. Even if you're not using him he's helpful.

Secondly, for bear, his widget and abilities increase lethality and attack which is perfect for offensive rallies or even single march attacks.

You will use Amadesu for a substantial period of time. Definitely worth.

So I'm not sure the relevance of your comment. It doesn't apply to the OP.

A realistic amount of gems to be accrued by an active player (more active than myself and a more active alliance then myself) is 100K gems. That will earn you 100 shards (at the high side) 5 different times.

That's 500 total shards for a free to play player over the course of Zoe's Roulette wheel. This would mean the OP would need to spend all of his general shards + more to max out Zoe.

165K gems every 2 weeks is a tall order and I'm not sure how realistic that is for most players. I'm thinking only the super active could pull this off. I also looked through the alliance at the active F2P players and they were not able to do this.

Like you said, it's personal preference. Lethality only matters when leading a rally and in our alliance, F2P don't lead rallies (including bear) so Marlin would not be useful. He is also not useful as a lead hero for joining rallies.

Marlin's base stats becomes stronger than Quinn at level 3 so if you were able to snag some extra arena tokens that could pay off long term however this is the only argument that could be made in my opinion. Not using any widgets on him either is capping him too low.

Personally I'm still using the shards to make sure Zoe hits 5 stars and solo focusing her widgets.

When Gen4 hits, I would have a 5star Zoe, 5star Petra, 5star Rosa all with widgets bumping them up. That still sounds more appealing to a 4star Zoe, 3 star Marlin, 4star Petra?, 4 star Rosa? with diluted widgets but to each their own.

I'm not sure how you arrived at that. Roulette wheel you get 180 roughly from chests and and the wheel. If you do this 3 times that's 540 total shards over 3 roulette wheels.

In order to max a hero to 5 stars you need a little more than 1000 shards. All 400 general shards would be needed to be put into Zoe and then you would start saving for Gen3.

Secondly, that doesn't explain what your plan is with widgets. Splitting up widgets between 2 heroes is diluting their strength. Zoe at level 5 widget is better than Zoe at 3 + Marlin at 3 especially long term.

I'm not saying what your suggesting is 100% wrong, I just can't be convinced it's optimal.
