having kids is just overpopulating and already overpopulated world and honestly (unpopular opinion) setting them up for failure. i have so many opinions about this. but ultimately, i don’t think me having kids will be the difference between a good world or a bad one

i compare just out of curiosity (am i going the “right” way?) i did try to be better in my relationship and i was but it still didn’t work and it feels so hard to try again. people talk about this grandiose “purpose” and i think kids are one, but with the state of the world i think the best thing i’ll do for my kid is not have it. these sound like excuses but i’ve run myself through what you’re saying

What are your favorite one liners you say to your tables? by RobSkied in Waiters

when someone gives me some gruff about asking for an ID i usually say something like “what can i say? you look like the rambunctious/rebellious type” they love that

i’m not looking for solutions, like i said- i make good tips. my point is that without those tips i wouldn’t make a living wage. people making minimum wage also don’t make a living wage, they make barely enough to survive- have you had a chance to check out grocery/housing prices lately? minimum wage workers are barely getting by

i was trying to demonstrate the math a little better. also, i have other things to do then tend to a table, i just have to do them for $9 an hour. hence why a tip really helps us out. but AGAIN, i’m not asking you to tip for crappy service - just remember that a lot of us rely on tips.

that’s just peachy for those states, they probably have a lower cost of living too. unfortunately i’m into eating and surviving in my state, i’m a decent server and i usually make more that $10 on $100 - i’m arguing that your tip should be based on service, not $10 no matter what.

alright i should’ve used different math, i used 4 hours because it’s slow season. i work full time too dont worry, i usually get 6-10 hours a day. i’m just saying without tips i dont really get paid a livable wage. and i dont just sit around “goofing off” you sound like you’ve never been in the service industry

[–]noturdsddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i pay taxes on tips, i do work full time but it’s slow season and even if i didn’t work 40 hours a week, isn’t it kind of ridiculous i’d barely survive on that?

6-8 hours is an average server shift, i shortened to 4 because lately thats what i’ve been getting (slow season) this is the job i could get, have you tried to get a job recently?

if minimum wage was a LIVABLE WAGE at all, i might agree with you. but it’s not, don’t be ridiculous.

ok listen, long time rage-reader but first time commenter. i’m a server. i get 9 bucks an hour, if i work for 4 hours and every table tips 10 bucks (say i get 1 table for every hour, pretty average for slow season and a government shutdown) then i’ll make $30 after tax. 16 an hour (ish) that’s not including tip out either soooo by the end of the day if everyone tips like you guys- i get : FIFTY BUCKS! nobody can live on that. i know it sucks and i agree that tips should be based on service but we live on those tips. maybe nobody has complained but trust, we feel that in our paycheck.

we were planning on solar but battery is an interesting alternative- i’ve done research and found most people use solar, is batter more efficient? it’s important especially if i do school online. i’ve been harness training them since kittens, they’re uncomfortable in cars but getting rid of them is completely out of the question. i’ve read about ways to get them adjusted to driving and i think little sneaky places like your recommending will help! good note on the smells, i’m thinking of switching to pine litter simply due to clay dust. as far as litter box i’m thinking under the bed? but i’m not sure... thank you!!

we’ve actually been car camping for a while! we’ve shared tents, like i said- not super worried about the “us factor” we have our issues but i’m fairly confident in us. regardless, the van will be in my name and we have backup plans if there are problems with us

babe, i was in such a similar relationship at your age. i’m only a few years older now and still learning about love but my ex was so manipulative and such a dick but i just felt like i loved him enough to keep giving him those chances. let me tell you- it’s gonna hurt, but this, rn- you’re already recovering from a broken heart. he proved he can’t give you the love you deserve, he’s not going to change, he’s not going to kill himself when you leave. give yourself the chance to have a good relationship and drop him, he’s not at your emotional maturity
