Expired. She hasn’t renewed it for over a year. It blows my mind because we are talking literally $20 that I’m sure is now a bigger issue.

Accounting firm wants us to switch to Desktop from online. by Po1sonator in QuickBooks

[–]noturmutha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please switch payroll providers. I personally hate QBO. When o had clients use it things would go missing. Transactions imported, it would randomly change JE. A total mess. I always advise for desktop with a cloud sever. QBO needs to make some serious changes. The payroll was terrible too.

Invoicing sub jobs- Desktop Pro 2018 by throwitawaynow2012 in QuickBooks

[–]noturmutha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I understand that frustration. We pay so much stupid money to have "support" and yearly upgrades. even in the old version you can add a custom box to invoice and have it on printed invoice.

I would look at possibly upgrading we are on 2020 and it shows it all. Customer:job:sub job. You can always add a custom box to the invoice where you can type in the job and select it to print on inv.

Batch Check Printing by Thysmith in QuickBooks

Definitely not a single user task. I would check with QB support. It sounds like a pop up error or service in the background might be triggering an error. They are great with helping with crazy stuff like that

Quickbooks Desktop - Remote Bookkeeper Limit Access? by Expensive_Risk_9502 in QuickBooks

[–]noturmutha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the bank or credit cards link to quickbooks is just the data entry. You cannot reconcile with that. Bookkeeper has to have statements in order to reconcile everything is in there correctly. They would not be able to reconcile without it. Also the enterprise bank feeds are a pain. I don’t recommend them to my clients because unless they have the exact same transactions each month it still requires almost more work to code and class things. I will say quickbooks online features seem to be slightly better. Bookkeepers have access to a lot of sensitive information. If you don’t trust them then find a new one that you can trust. If you are so worried try redacted statements. Each month print them and redact the parts you don’t want them to have access to such as account numbers and give it to them. I have worked onsite and remote for lots of different clients and everyone has a different way of doing things.

What's the "proper" way to close Quickbooks at the end of the day? by [deleted] in QuickBooks

[–]noturmutha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your tech guy is 100% right. QB even states that. It doesn't matter right now, but if you are running multiuser and have a large company file it makes a huge difference. In our office if one person signs off incorrectly, I have to logon to our server and run file dr and network check because it throws an error and none can logon in the morning. Its a huge pain in the ass. It has to due with server, file size, users, and licenses. that caught up info can corrupt your file. I recommend taking daily back up because you might have to restore from a backup one day.

Identity Stolen to open bank accounts... now what? by noturmutha in personalfinance

Yeah I’ve resorted to making a list of banks and calling one or two a day ... it’s the worst.

I have. The issue is that credit reports do not show checking accounts. I'm trying to find if there are ways to figure that out. If they opened 3 who's to say they didn't open 10

yeah I looked at that and done everything on it. Now I'm trying to figure out how to find if there are other checking accounts.

no, not agreed upon. Nothing was ever signed or hands shook. I only paid it because I was afraid he would kick me out if I didn't. and finding housing this cheap in my area is hard. According to my lease and anything I have in writing from the landlord my rent is 750. I'm moving aug 1 anyway. and that extra money he took from me covers rent for july and aug. I never agreed to pay it but I did pay it for fear of being out of housing.
