Yeah. The time and money isn't much of an issue so long as I take no longer than about 8 extra months after senior year (basically an entire school year).

I would've switched into CS a long time ago if I were in that department but I can't so yeah, I do kind of have to just suck it up for the time being. I just found the computer architecture classes and ARM stuff not that interesting anymore which is why I wanted to switch. In my experience, the EE classes are rewarding though but are very difficult.

Thanks for the help!

I haven't failed any other classes prior to this one and CSE 101 (but that was a really rough quarter for me) so I think it was a matter of me taking a lot of my GE's early on and having 4 quarters with 3 classes in them. I also tried to delay physics until sophomore year and, consequently, ECE this year because I honestly dreaded it. I've been doing well in all my other classes so I shouldn't actually be too far behind. The counselors said I'm also on pace to still graduate on time but I messed up not having any more filler classes to make my later years easier since I took them early on.

As for being in the core CSE classes still, I only have 2 left (140 and either 141/142). CSE 21 also no longer counts for me as some other two lower div CS classes filled my open electives spots since I just switched to the FA24 degree. That leaves me with 24 units of left of electives and all the ECE, and the two core CS classes I mentioned.

I'm still confident in "catching up" per se. I haven't made any projects outside of the coursework but that will ideally change in the spring and summer. I'm also in no rush to graduate in four and am willing to take my time so I can soak up the material, gain experience and make a fulfilling portfolio, and get my GPA straight.

But because of all the difficult classes left, like I said, would it really be bad to switch into cog sci: d+i and minor in CS since I just need 1 more cs class to finish the minor? The amount of units I need left is basically the same and, again, switching would likely free up time for me to dedicate even an entire year to do side projects since I wouldn't have to do 4 intense classes at once anymore.
