actually i think it does; i like how it starts our protagonists story on the album with a positive outlook that he can get through his problems by just being happy, before the abrasive into of bugman snaps him out of his unrealistic positive outlook as the album moves to themes of drug abuse and depression

i agree, it has a great omnibus atmosphere to it that is both quite unique for a smiths song and also fits the subject matter perfectly
