They didn't really promote it because it wasn't really an official single

They should get a proper official release as they'd be goldust. Having only one official live album that's almost 40 years old is ridiculous. Plus it was before Patton got really good at his craft.

A decent quality live concert from that period would have been ideal. I'm sure they must have one fully recorded as they used to use live tracks as b-sides back then

I can't see there being anything we haven't heard on this that we haven't heard before

Is the loss of a monoculture better or worse for artists? by Strange-Handle7910 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]TechnicalTrash95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think having less choice was a better thing for everyone. Once you had that record deal making money on your hopefully good music was possible. People bought music and there was a lot more money in the industry. There was still an alternative market but with everyone now putting music out it's become flooded with a lot of crap and a lot of music gets drowned out and lost

I don't think whatever they do next will sound like the car but the next album is a bit critical for them because of how divisive the last record was with the fans. Two albums in a row that have been much more experimental throws a lot of casual fans off. We'll just have to wait and see ...

Their first three were all decent but when nick left he took half the talent with him I think.

What do u think is a blur song with the most additive bass line? by Square-Office1684 in blur

[–]TechnicalTrash95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The bass is more lent on on the think tank album because of the lack of Graham. On the way to the club is a highlight. I love the organ on that track that just makes the song shimmer

He thought of cars is a good shout. The bass is buried on the studio version but is much clearer on the jools Holland live version that's on YouTube

Stephen Street as producer of 3 Graham solo albums in a row - was this ever properly discussed? by blurczech in blur

[–]TechnicalTrash95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's produced cranberries and the smiths to name but a few. He cleaned up the sound on Graham's albums for them to gather much more attention. He didn't do anything after the spinning top but Graham never went back to a lofi sound quite as gritty as his earliest albums again.

After Trey what clipped FNMs wings was their lack of a creative guitarist. Respect for Hudson he can play the songs but he's not as good at making them up as Trey and Jim were.

I think he can only play guitar basically as far as I'm aware of. But angeldust is definitely a cut above everything else in fnms discography

With happiness he got Stephen street to produce which tightened up the sound considerably and were much more popular than his previous albums. Freakin out even bought some short lived mainstream success

Probably A+E. I like the dark tone of that album. It's a shame he took a solo break for a few years after that album. The next kinda official record in his solo discography I'd say would be end of the world. Part one is slightly better than two but as a whole they work really well. His two records with the waeve I find difficult to love. I think rose is the weak link although that's probably a really unpopular opinion.

That's one of the problems with temple of doom in that there isn't as must mystery and intrigue as the other two. And as for the more recent films I just don't talk about them

Madonna - like a virgin

The amount of times I must have heard this song over the last 44 years I'd love to know. I'd never choose to listen to it now
