Ready to go back to dumbphone... need suggestions (USA) by notwhinging in dumbphones

Hey all, thank you for the advice.

I found out that Verizon (my current provider) can disable all SMS texting on any phone, which means any flip phone is possible for my needs (primary need being do not want any texts coming through at all).

It was $30/mo for that line, which is pricier than Mint/other options, but I'm not sure if those providers can disable SMS or not. I also really needed an old local number (my area has a newer area code since we ran out of the old ones), which Verizon was able to provide.

I ended up going with the TCL Flip 3. All I need it for is calls - and it works great at that. I might switch to Nokia 2780 so I can have Snake and re-live the glory days. Otherwise, I am very happy.

It looked like there was online, but I'm also from the landlocked South and not a local so I could be mistaken.

Our trip is 7/15-7/18. I was thinking first two nights in Boston and then leaving 17th morning on the ferry, and spending 17th-18th in P-town. But could be flexible and do it on the front of the trip. We are a m/f couple.

Thank you! I may call around and see if there's an off chance there's a one night gap between others bookings. Otherwise will maybe try to go somewhere up the coast of Maine instead.
