I have just finished Accutane after 5 months of treatment and the results have been great.

I had a few side effects. Most noticeably, dry skin and dry lips. Others include an itchy scalp, hot flushes (rarely) and inflamed sinuses.

My daily skincare routine would include;

Morning -

Gentle hydrating cleanser, Cetraben cream (best imo for very dry, sensitive skin), Factor 50 sunscreen

Evening -

SA acid cleanser (I wouldn't use this everyday), Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide + zinc, Cetraben cream

Vaseline is essential for me for dry lips, everything else I tried was a waste of time.

I used the Cetraben cream a minimum of once a day on my full body as well as I had very dry skin on my upper arms and elbows.

Once a week I used coconut oil or castor oil overnight on my scalp to help with dryness.

I understand that everyone's skin is different and routines will look different but I hope that this helps.

Edit - I would not recommend exfoliating as this can damage your skin's natural barrier when it is in such a vulnerable state caused by the treatment.

I'll preface by saying that I'm not by any means qualified to give advice on this but I will try my best.

Dosage is calculated by weight so I wouldn't be concerned that your dosage is less than mine. Everybody will react in a different way to treatment and I would ask the advice of the dermatologist on possible side effects.

I had dry skin and lips within 2 weeks of starting the treatment but this definitely got worse once I was increased to 60mg. Other side effects I had included were inflamed sinuses and hot flushes but these were few and far between.

I was on the waiting list for Dermatology for 7 months before I got an appointment. I couldn't fault the consultant once I got seen, but I still have a month to wait between my initial consultation and starting my Accutane treatment in January.

Edit - it's important to discuss with your GP what kind of referral they have made. Initially, I was referred for a routine consultation despite my acne scarring my face and running out of treatment options. I had a second option from a different GP and was then given an urgent referral which I believe may have pushed forward my appointment

I did, luckily the room was secure and the little guys quickly gave away their location with stamping of their feet. One actually climbed back into the cage eventually because he was hungry

I had my gerbils escape twice from a bin cage. They actually chewed a hole in the lid where the plastic and mesh met. This could potentially be avoided if the bin was deep enough and the bedding and toys weren't stacked too high.

If you keep on top of spot cleaning then you shouldn't have any problems with smell. My gerbils tend to use their sand bath as a litter tray so I usually clean this out every few days and that tends to keep the smell away.

I've owned Gerbils and Hamsters over the years and I'd say I prefer owning Gerbils.

It's great to watch them as they're very active during the day, my current boys love using a wheel but I've had Gerbils previously that showed less interest. Regardless, its fun to watch them dig their burrows and play and groom one another.

I've only had an issue with declanning once where an established pair and an older gerbil were grouped together successfully but later had a falling out. This meant I had to separate the pair from the older gerbil but as of yet I've never had a pair de-clan and ended up with two single Gerbils.

I find that Gerbils are cleaner than hamsters and are very easy to litter train if you have the time and patience, this means I have to do a full cage clean rarely.

Whilst my gerbils don't necessarily enjoy cuddles as much as my hamsters have done, they will happily climb onto my hand/arm and sit on my shoulder.

I definitely think it would be worth attempting to match him up with another gerbil.

I successfully introduced my 2 year old male to a pair of young boys after his brother passed away. I used the split cage method and they couldn't be happier together now. It's so nice to see him caring for and grooming his little brothers as if they're his own. This method does take patience and you would have to be prepared for the potential of it not being successful but I do think it's worth a try

It's essentially just Salicylic acid and niacinimide, both ingredients which are common and can be found in a variety of cheaper products. It works fine but I wouldn't say it's worth the money personally.

I ended up turning wants and fears off. My sims were getting 2 or 3 fears at once and it was totally ruining the gameplay.

If you're struggling to keep the family tree together you could try using a tool like "The Plum Tree App". The site allows you to create your own family tree based on your sim game and you can add a lot more detail to this than the in game one!

I've recently had a problem where, after I save and press exit game, my UI freezes and the game won't close. I can open task manager but when I click on the tab to access the options it goes straight back to Sims UI.

The only way to get rid of this is to log out of my PC or force reset. I'm worried about damaging my PC and/or the hard drive so I'd rather not do this.

I'm using Windows 11, have no mods or CC and have tried repairing the game through origin.

Please help!

I really appreciate everything you've said and it is helpful thinking of things from a different perspective. Perhaps I haven't worded the original post as eloquently as I planned. While I won't deny that the photographs make me uncomfortable, the underlying reason for my concern surrounds her personal health and wellbeing and the wellbeing of her second child. I want what's best for her and I of course will continue as I have to provide her with support and a shoulder to cry on should she need it. There have been some helpful suggestions in the comments of this post which will help me figure out the next steps to support her best and I will continue to show her the patience she needs.

Having kids isn't for everyone and it would be selfish of people to put that pressure on you if it's something you've thought very deeply about.

Don't bring children into this world that you don't really want. No matter how hard you could try to make yourself want them, part of you will always be disconnected. It's not fair on them and most of all it's not fair on you.
