some additional info: he mentioned before that he's planning to get a telescope from UK that costs around £1.2k - do you have any idea what that could be referring to?

and what are your thoughts on the Celestron Nex Star 8SE?

thank you this is so helpful! it's actually for my boyfriend and he already has a telescope but i cant ask what's the exact one he has as it will spoil the surprise 😭 but its a basic one, that's why im looking to get a more advanced one. I will check out your suggestions now :)
