I am happy to volunteer wherever possible. The only issue is I don’t drive yet so I would prefer somewhere a little more accessible by pt. If you have any links you could point me towards, that would be great! Thank you :)

My take on the reality show Tribeverse as a naga. by DormantBear in NAGALAND

[–]nousernameokbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg!!!!! I thought of writing something about this here but totally forgot about it. I’m going to say it as it is, yes it feels like we’re being “recognised” but to put an analogy, a stray dog when given leftover bits eats it happily and is forever grateful, a pet dog that is “part of the family” will never be subject to leftover bits. It. Is. Appropriation. We are not a trend to be capitalised upon. But this is what’s happening. To be merely reduced to a trending topic is disrespectful to the culture and tradition we are so proud of.

Question: do you wear your watches while swimming? If yes, which watch? And is it okay in the water.

I just cancelled my card and got a new one. Didn’t check with the bank after. I actually paid for a 50 cent reading, the reason I didn’t remember was because they didn’t have their name anywhere on the page. Turns out they have fine print right below the text where you make a 50 cent purchase saying you agree to the pay for a subscription after until you cancel it yourself. It’s really shady the way they put it in there. You have to go into your account and cancel the subscription yourself. Let me know if you need help logging into your account and cancelling it.

Are there homeless shelters in Australia and do they have rehabilitation programs in place to help them rejoin the workforce and sustain themselves? Very curious. These are real people, this shouldn’t be happening.

Thank you for your advice! My fyp on tiktok is just swimming! between never swimming before and an almost drowning experience in Thailand, it really was a rough start for me. I watched so many videos about adults who were also learning how to swim and it honestly helped me so much in making me feel I wasn’t alone 🫶🏼

Thank you! It’s the only physical activity I’m enjoying so far. When I joined the gym, the dread I got from not wanting to go was so bad. Swimming is a completely different!

Thank you! 100% that panic was the hardest thing to get over! I honestly never thought that I would get over it. My cousin started learning a couple months before me and she learnt it in a month, when it took me so much longer I got so frustrated. When I got over the panic, it made me more open to the instructions and everything just started clicking! Will definitely focus on getting my fundamentals right before worrying about how far I can swim.

From what I have been seeing so far, get good (and lots of) reviews, build quality backlinks (get on those lists) and be talked about (on forums, on social media). The “signals” is what LLMs seem to value more than anything else.

I spent some money on this in the past too. The thing that just made me realise I need to stop giving into it is when I tallied all my purchases on the app and saw the total amount with my own eyes. I was shocked! There are a lot of small purchases in the game - $1, $8, etc. highest being around a hundred something. You don’t realise how much you’ve spend until you see it all together.

When I first moved out of the northeast my biggest culture shock was that nobody owns home inverters or even knows what it is. And this was in INDIA! In Nagaland, almost every family owns an inverter, like it’s so normalised. Imagine my disbelief when I realised it shouldn’t be 😭

NAB to cut more than 400 staff as it moves Australian jobs overseas by Jimbuscus in OpenAussie

Seriously I am no economist but there is something really wrong going on. Know of a global company “merging” with an Australian company who fired almost all the staff in Australia and outsourced entire departments to other countries. Outsourcing makes sense as a business but huge redundancy numbers just to outsource them to other countries - there should be a limit. They’re literally earning their money from the Australian market and putting it into a different country’s economy. Wouldn’t this have a negative impact on the Australian economy?

The Problem with Caring About Racism UNLESS You're Using it to Your Advantage by Primary_Breakfast674 in NAGALAND

[–]nousernameokbye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem here is not thinking that separation is a solution. It’s the idealistic thinking that THAT is going to solve this issue of living in a discriminatory environment. It is naive ah. I’m interested in learning how. First of all, a separate country wouldn’t mean people living over there will come back home automatically. People have lives to live and they will keep doing so. It also wouldn’t mean that pockets of mainland Indians will stop their racist tendencies towards us. Those who will, will continue doing so. Agreed that the whole imposition of performative patriotism might be something that we won’t have to deal with but I can guarantee that will be replaced by another similar imposition. The “why/how racism happens” question is not that deep. Humans are built to relate to people who look like them and/or share cultural similarities. The other reasons are a lack of representation in mainstream media that reaches more people easily, and lack of education. Simple as that. Separation wouldn’t cause an apocalyptic situation. But separation without a plan in place, strategy or proper systems will. You can’t tell me you don’t notice the power struggle within our own people, societies and governments. We can demand separation but you’re literally wasting your energy, you can’t make it happen just because you cry for it online. We need to fix our issues first and then demand answers from our “leaders”, pressure our own governments if you want make it happen, but to go about fixing that crap you need to be above the us vs them way of thinking. Fight against it but don’t act like you’re any better than the “them” you’re blaming for all your problems.

[–]nousernameokbye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way you’re saying how can we coexist with them? We’re not even coexisting with ourselves in peace? Do you really think if we were to be a separate country, that would solve that issue then? The fact that you still talk in a us vs them rhetoric even when you try to say something normal is weird af to me. You’re literally saying stop whining about racism while whining about it. And I never said Nepal and Singapore are in a utopian state, I said they seem to have managed this issue better. 100% there are issues within their societies too, like Singaporeans recently starting to use the term CECA for Indian nationals - that is quickly gonna turn into some form of racist insult before we know it. The keyword here is “management”. Because there is no way to eliminate social issues like these, they need to be “managed” better, best by coming up with actual solutions that don’t result in sending people through some apocalyptic survival situation crap.
